my gosh, when I was a Jr. golfer in the 80s, I chipped with my 55 deg Wilson JPII from everywhere around the green. It was my go to and would practice all the time with it.

Funny - I mostly use my 48 degree for chipping. Works great for me...

This is his podcast with arguably the best chipping coach in the world. He did a full 1 hour video showcasing his private lesson with Dan. His short game drastically improved. RS brought on the coach to showcase the coach not himself.

I agree. Get rid of the 58-60 wedge. I use 46 deg PW for anything under 100yds unless I'm over a bunker short sided then I'll hit a 54... use 1 wedge and learn it.

That one wedge for me is the 60 degree. My 47 degree PW is my 145 yard club.

I totally agree. A lob wedge is a just in case club. Rarely needed but its good to have IN CASE YOU NEED THE LOFT TO EXCAPE A SITUATION!

60 is absolutely great from 100-50 yards in tho. I used the 60 around the green if I’m in a clean lie bc Ik it’ll check. But yea in the rough there’s no need unless you have to use height!

54 and 58 is also brilliant 50-100 yards. 60 degrees is just completely unnecessary and more likely to go wrong

I think about a lob wedge once in a while, but really, I like the bump & run technique.

I suck at Chipping. The bump and Run chip with a 7 or 5 iron is Perfect in alot of situations. Unless theres a bunker in front of you

I always take 2 wedges w/me as I walk over & assess my lie b4 determining which shot to play. My 56 & my 48. They are both money bc I’ve learned to used both equally as well.

@@benhardcastle2305 nope. My PW is a 44. I carry a 48/52/56/60. I’m a long hitter so I need those gappings.

@@benmonroe_the_1 same here, I’m new. Might I ask why do long hitters need those specific wedges? I’m having a hard time I only carry a 58 and a PW

@@bradleylai4547 it’s all about carry distances. I carry my wedges: 48 = 145 52 = 135 56 = 125 60 = 115 Subsequently, I carry my 5-iron 215. So the extra wedge helps me a lot more than a 4-iron. I go D/3W/2i/5i-PW/48/52/56/60/P.

As a broke golfer i have no choice, i literally found out what a 60 degree was yesterday, i thought there was only sand and pitching wedges now come to find theres gap and lob 🤑

The best chippers on tour use 60 degree wedges, only guys i see preaching the low runners are men in their 60's
