Is it just me or does anyone else say “wheeeeee!” when you give that last piece a ride around the puzzle? 😂😂

For those that do not know, I loved that you explained to the audience the concept of a false fit. No one has done it so detailed and with examples as you have, good job! Also, try tearing the cellophane by twisting your hands on the box. Unlike the Anatolian you did (and I am currently building one), I love that the Trefl pieces have that woven look/feel to them. I was disappointed that the Anatolian had that on the box but not on the pieces. To me, a good company should reflect the image both on the box and on the pieces, unless the puzzle has a twist.

Thank you! That one that I showed was the perfect example. I was thinking I had a missing piece for a while until I realised it’s because I had that pink piece in the wrong place! The cellophane twist technique I have tried but not yet mastered. I will need to practice so I can become a pro! 😆 Yes, I agree. I do like when the box quality runs through to the pieces as well. It just gives it that quality feel. Also I prefer a woven finish like these Trefl ones so I was very happy about that. Thanks for watching and commenting Betty 😍

Gradients look hard but they are actually the easiest of all puzzles to do 😊❤

Yes, I don’t really struggle with gradients. The green sections are often problematic for me as my eyes don’t pick up on the nuances as well with green, but even at that, I don’t have a problem with them much 🌈

I like to find the center piece in a puzzle first then go out from there. It's fun.

Trefl! Exciting! Here in Cyprus, Trefl is the main brand. Although the odd shop has Ravensburger, Clementoni, and Educa (oh, and Mindbogglers - hideously thin; never again!), our biggest island-wide toystore imports Trefl. And since it's the brand's back catalogue, they're all incredibly cheap - from 4 euros for 500 pieces to 6 euros for a 2000-piece Trefl. Needless to say, I've got the lot as they're a pleasant filler between my more expensive 'treat' brands! And, honestly, they're pretty good! :)

Yes, I did find it to be decent quality all round! They are also very reasonably priced here too - mine were on sale, so I got them for £6.50 each - a bargain for a 1k puzzle I think! I will definitely do another Trefl - maybe even check out some of their large piece counts 😊

Happy Mother’s Day, Vicki! I know that is getting celebrated today in the UK. Wishing you blessings. I haven’t done a Trefl puzzle yet. I will look at their puzzle selection. You truly love the giant puzzles and I look forward to your progress on the massive 30k+ puzzle as you start the next section.

Thank you Carrie! I didn’t really make a thing of it since Mother’s Day is in May for many others 😊. I did have a lovely day though and got lots of nice gifts from my kids 😍. I would recommend a Trefl, they are so reasonably priced (at least they are over here) and decent quality too and I couldn’t fault the image quality 😃. I’m super excited about the 30k too, I’ve started the section now and I’m really enjoying it! Thanks for watching Carrie xx

I don’t think you are at all. I’ve spoken to a few people about this, some people struggle with other colours, but many struggle with green - I found the greens particularly challenging on the Cloudberries gradient puzzle too!

Great video! I usually have trouble distinguishing between the orange/red/pink colours. I loved what you said about puzzles not only needing variety in piece shapes but also prong shapes. Totally agree! 💜🧩

Thanks Donnalouise! I don’t have a problem with reds/oranges and pinks, but purple does stump me sometimes - mostly it’s green for me though. Yes, the prong uniformity was really what meant I had the occasional false fit with this puzzle. Trefl do some large piece count puzzles too, I wonder if the pieces are the same in those puzzles or if the cut is a bit different…🤔 xx

So you finally discovered the stick gradient puzzle. 😊 I enjoyed doing that one as I prefer gradients with interest as opposed to plain ones. Another one of that type you may like is a Clementoni ref. no. 39521, looks like crinkled paper. I've just received one by Gorgeous Games called Tartan. I shall be a while doing that one! 😊 I do like doing Trefl puzzles as the quality is reasonable and they have some decent images. I did one of their spiral jigsaws called Magical Places - Magic Bay.

I agree 100% with your assessment - reasonable quality, decent images. It was thoroughly enjoyable! I want to try some Clementoni gradients too, they have the Colourbloom series don’t they? Those gradients look absolutely stunning! I didn’t know they were called stick gradients - that’s probably a better way of describing them than cuboids!! 😆

@@Vickymakesandbuilds That "stick" gradient puzzle doesn't have a name as such, just called Gradient. I called it square sticks to give it some definition on my jigsaw list. I liked the Color Boom series. I've done a couple of 500s Code Nos. 35094 and 35093. I loved both of those, very vibrant. 👍

Good old Trefl... It's always interesting to see a review of a Trefl puzzle from someone outside of Poland (Trefl is a Polish brand) 🙂 Most people in Poland got used to the piece cut of Trefl and thus, the fact that pieces fit everywhere... I personally don't like it. Funny fact that even in their spiral series, where they created a different cut, Trefl has the same problem 🙈 Moreover, I think you pieced together an Art and Fable puzzle once, am I right? If yes then check the piece cut. It's the same... Art and Fable puzzles are being manufactured in Poland by Trefl... The quality of their puzzles is cool but the piece cut... well, that's Trefl piece cut 🙄 Art and Fable chose Trefl probably because once they released velvet touch puzzles. I've never had one, but I've heard about them... And that velvet surface is really cool 👍 Anyway, if you haven't tried them yet, I suggest you to check the other Polish puzzle brand - Castorland. Those puzzles are completely different and have a much better piece cut. Also, they have a feature that lots of puzzlers here, in Poland, grew to love: 1500 and 3000-piece puzzles have tiny puzzle pieces, like almost half the normal size. It may sound intimidating but it's really cool and if you piece together a 3k puzzle (which is smaller than 2k Ravensburger) it will look just outstanding 😉 Have fun on building the next section of the Wildlife puzzle! Can't wait to see it together with the other sections you've already finished 😊

Thanks for your comment! That’s so interesting to hear - I knew Trefl was Polish, but I didn’t know Castorland were. I will try a Castorland one of these days, I’ve heard their pieces are a little smaller, which must definitely help, size wise, on their larger puzzles. I’m looking forward to trying one. I have done an Art and Fable! Only the one, but I want to go back and check the cut now you have pointed that out! I didn’t really notice the uniformity of prong size on that one, but I must admit I was a little distracted by that lovely velvet touch, which really was the highlight of the puzzle for me - I loved the image too, but that velvet feel was just lovely 😍 I’m having loads of fun on Wildlife - this section is really flying together 😃

Trefl is polish brand (my home country) and it runs for a long, long time. I remember doing their puzzles when I was a kid. I got my first one at age 6 and it was 600 pieces Little Mermaid - I still have it and it feels very nostalgic doing it back.

I love Trefl puzzles, and I think it might be the most popular brand here in Lithuania. What I've noticed with their piece shapes, is that you can have a bunch of smaller than usual and bigger than usual in the same jigsaw, and I actually enjoy that a lot. This particular puzzle has come across quite a lot in my shopping places, I definitely have my eye on it for the future. And yay for the wildlife, I missed seeing that one!
@Vickymakesandbuilds
@Vickymakesandbuilds Жыл бұрын
Yes! That is something I noticed as I was puzzling, some pieces seemed smaller, some average and some bigger - I did think that was a little different, which is good. I was afraid of some of the smaller ones getting bent, but mostly they were ok 😊. I really did love their image quality and, if you can get the gradient I would highly recommend - it was great fun to build 😍 Glad you are excited for Wildlife! I’m actually powering through this section - it’s the easiest I’ve done so far (which comes as a bit of a relief, if I’m honest! 😆)

What a coincidence, as I just started my second Trefl puzzle last night. I love their slightly smaller pieces! I do agree with your assessment on the prongs and false fit business.
@Vickymakesandbuilds
@Vickymakesandbuilds Жыл бұрын
My first impression was that they were small, but then others were more of a normal size. However the prongs were the same smaller size on all of them and I think that’s what was throwing me. Saying all that, I really did enjoy the puzzle and there weren’t many false fits, maybe 2 or 3. It makes me wonder what the pieces are like on their large piece count puzzles, whether they are the same or cut differently - false fits can be problematic on giant puzzles. I really hope you are enjoying your Trefl puzzle too! 😍
