Trying real life fighter maneuvers in Dragons of the Edge

4 жыл бұрынAfter watching way more Battlefield V and War Thunder videos than I should I decided to try my take on at least the most basic maneuvers in DotE. As you can see in the video, with the different flight controls and physics it was harder than one would think.
In the future I might try more maneuvers if I find a willing partner in multiplayer since these things are impossible to do with the current not-so-smart AI.

A new model is in progress so hopefully we get better animations

Arc animations would greatly improve the wings. Subtle jerks of the body when you turn, the tail adjusting based on which way you’re going, etc.

The wings aren’t actually stiff if you have a better pc that can run the game with higher fps

TynaTwinx It has nothing to do with the fps, I have a 2.000$ PC, I can run it on the best graphics and the wings are still stiff. It's because of the model is like this:D

Someone REALLY tried to not talk about Day of Dragons LOL! Nah, DoD (Yes, with two ds, Im lookin at you, Survey...) is a dragon game that look a lot of peoples money, had a lot of hype then the creators just shit out shop asset dragons in a pitiful game.

I really love your video, been trying to do the turns for a while now🙃, but i would like to ask, can you maybe make a tutorual on fishing in southlands? I can fish pretty good, but since the water in southlands lakes is very deep, by the time i catch another fish and eat, the hunger already drops more than the fish filled up. Please, make a tutorial😥

I likely won't make a tutorial about that since I'm barely able to catch fish myself. It's all just about speed. The only thing I could probably recommend is to dive into the water at high speed which will save you some time instead of swimming from the shore.

I have a glitch that I can’t fix so I was painting my character and when I spawned in it only showed 1 colour which was the main colour and I’ve tried to fix it but I can’t is this a glitch or a bug that’ll be fixed soon?

@@goldentea1048 numbers in the skin's name should not be an issue but the skin name cannot have any _ symbols in it. If it's not the name that causes it then I don't know, we've been noticing people encountering this bug very recently and still aren't sure what is the cause.

I have the same glitch,if your colors were neon then it is a "hardly fixing glitch",try to make a night time and then paint(thats what I were recommended but still not working for me).I am not sure if they working on this problem...;-; But still you should say about the problem to the dev.

It would be cool if you could push a button that makes you close your wings so you could fly super high up and just close your wings and fall, opening them at the last second after some cool diving and spinning 😍

That's a wish we all have 😔but that would require an advanced gravity system and maybe a complete recode of the game. Perhaps a wish for the far future but I don't think it's likely to happen

There should be a green check mark on the top right corner of the screen, click that and it will exit you out of paint mode so you can edit more :)

I believe when a creature does any sort of rolling in the air they tuck their wings under themselves before opening them again Other than that looks great

The base light fury skin was made by a member from the discord server called Duckei, it's also included in the Legendary Markings pack. I just added on the black markings and scars.

I noticed most of the turns you did during actual combat were vertical, moving upwards. My guess is it's half to regain altitude, and half so you can safely drop in order to dodge, should you have to. Is that why?

Mostly, yes, I always try to stick to the "rule of the high ground." Being above your enemy gives you a better view on the situation and better chances of gaining more speed for attacks, and prevents getting sneak-attacked from above (took some notes from the Leonopteryx scenes from Avatar)

When you select a skin to play as and use the /ChangeCharacter command your character stays in the game as an NPC, including the skin

Has this game been updated?? Your dragon looks sparkly like a Light Fury! I know you could do painting but did the Dev add a new feature? Or did you mod that in? It looks beautiful!

The sparkling was made in an art program (like Krita, Medibang etc), but I did not make this particular skin, only the black markings

It doesn't seem like you maintain velocity while dropping. I don't think you just stop instantly while in the air and start falling.

These maneuvers are actually pretty simple and basic, I would love to do more complicated ones but this sadly isn't possible due to the game's physics :|
