how you do the piping bag: you put the tip in the bag, take a pairing knife and cut the plastic around the tip (but not too far up so the tip doesn't pop out the bottom), push the plastic into the tip so when you fill the bag it doesn't go out the bottom, fold over the top of the bag maybe an inch or so, so that whenever you put in the filling you don't get it all over the top, then fill it, unfold the top, twist it shut, and pipe!

pro tip from a former baker! you should refrigerate the frosting before piping it, since it's oil and more oil, and that is very loose at room temperature! so refrigerating it will stiffen it. :)
