TS!Underswap is one of the best Undertale fangames I've had the pleasure of playing. Today, I'm playing through both released sections, since I never did a KZfaq video on the first area.

I think it's pretty neat how the Temmies represent the 7 deadly sins now. One has set themselves up as a leader and thinks they're better than everyone (pride), one wants to kill Chara as soon as possible (wrath), one of them is constantly dozing off (sloth), and amongst the ones that haven't been entirely revealed yet, there's one who wonders what Chara's soul tastes like (gluttony), one who's completely insistant that you give them your soul (greed), and one with hearts in their eyes (lust). This leaves the one we're first introduced to with envy.

IIRC, the shadow mouth temmie and sleepy temmie are actually the same one. If you check your journal after the bridge encounter, sleepy tem goes where mouth tem used to be.

I think they're supposed to be the 7 humans. The deadly sins motif is also there, but pay attention to the colors of their scarves. Yellow (clover) is pride, cyan is sloth, and red (frisk) is wrath. I'm guessing the humans were cremated (as the library suggests) instead of being kept in coffins, and their ashes were spread somewhere and somehow their essence "influenced" the Temmies. Also, the Temmies aren't actually Temmies -- they're Temmie plushies, as suggested by Flowey "None of your concern, plushie" and the carnival where you can see a Temmie plush doll. As for which soul colors correspond with the other sins... green is almost certainly gluttony because of their association with food (apron and pan). I have no idea what blue, orange, or purple correspond to out of the three remaining (lust/envy/greed). If I had to give a matching, it'd be purple envy, orange greed, blue lust. This feels the most right to me, although none of them particularly fit the roles that well.

Imagine if, on April 1st, deltarune chapters 3+4 released. And Toby Fox announced it, but nobody believed him because he announced the same thing last year. It would continue the great-year-for-undertale trend, AND be a certified Toby Fox move.

I hate to be a debbie-downer, but I don't think so. Undertale Yellow, Deltatraveler Section 3, and the 2nd demo for TS!Underswap all just happened to release in a short span of time. We're gonna have a whole lot of nothing until Chapters 3 and 4 release. And then a whole lot of nothing after that. I know this sounds like I'm being impatient, but I'm not. I actually have little to no problem waiting a few years for Deltarune and fangames to get updates. I just think it's a bit naive that people are saying that we're entering an Undertale fangame renaissance, when we aren't. Edit: I have changed my mind. Disregard this entire reply.

Tsunderswap Crossbones felt like OG sans without his nihilism and a bit more energetic which overall makes the character more enjoyable.

That's pretty much TS!Underswap, their personalities don't exactly change much. Spoilers TS!Underswap sans stops you from killing Muffet in neutral, by "taking the attack" (He dodges or something) As for genocide, I'm still working on that Edit: Also, you can't get the Golden flower tea in genocide, instead, you get the Key from Asgore's dust, unlock the house, and get BITTER Tea... it only heals "some HP" Also, I imagine that the future Papyrus fight will be similar to disbelief...

@@mr.personalspace7831 He is way too weak to pay for 6 more refrences and would be bankrupted immediately Asgore took the smart solution, after all if he went out with the first soul and tried to collect 6 more, the underground would've been empty of a king since he would definitely die, humans would prepare for war and also seal the underground even more to make sure no way can any monster ever get out, not even with the 7 souls.

I absolutely adore this game's interpretation of Underswap, keeping the characters' base personalities but just changing their roles. The beginning made me really appreciate not just Asgore as a character, but Toriel as well. Seeing how different characters act in different positions makes me understand them and their personalities so much more than before. Also Mettacrit is a cutie lol edit: 1:38:46 SHAYY PLEASE 😭😭

The Toriel-Sans interaction is also so different because of the change of characters. In original undertale Toriel makes sans promise that he'll protect the human, and he silently does for the entire game and admits in that short scene just before the core. In TS!Underswap's case, you can see asgore casually talking with someone under the tree, and later papyrus explicitely says his friend just called him to help you, so both characters are more straightfoward about their intentions.

by the way, alphys is putting up a front i dunno if she's pretending to be german or not but since ts!underswap is just the characters swapping positions instead of them also swapping personalities, it's likely that alphys either doesn't wanna do any of this or is pretending to be more intimidating so that you can surrender easier edit: i played the game on genocide out of curiosity: alphys speaks normally when she's on the call with sans, there's no "Zat Zah Zis" so that just confirms my theory

@@rosegray4061but thats we thing. We dont *know* that mad dummy will ever become mad mew mew in this. And if she does what if its only in genocide? After all the genocide route in this makes sure you feel even more like a monster than you ever did in undertale, so imagine if you murderign everyone causes her to find, and fully possess the mew mew doll only for us to kill her. Like a "yeah, she found out who she really was but with how little time she had to enjoy it... does it really matter?"

I think even if it's pre-transition referring to her with feminine pronouns is fair; even if she might not even BECOME Mew Mew or anything here, cause TS!Underswap Mad Dummy would still be the same one from Undertale, just in a different role, so she would still be her I think. Although i Hope she does become Mew Mew cause Mad Mew Mew is a peak character; and it does kinda seem like theyre heading down that path with the Mad Dummy reappearing in Starlight Isles with the dog house form.

You cannot actually interact with the stand at that point. Even if he tried, iirc when you try getting close Koffin-K will prevent you and that's all. I think you MAY be able to do it if you do some weird punch card shenanigans, other thing is those objects having special interactions at that point of the game before you are supposed to.

Honestly, I can see why people hyped this game up. It's really well made, I should definatly play it myself when the full thing releases. Btw: Was expecting crossbones to not be all he makes himself up to be, but nope; he's just straight up a superhero.

Well, I like how game really cares about your playtough, like quests wich keeps you in one location, it's own story to explore, new mechanics to discover. And devs have their own vision of Underswap, since og Underswap is...mid?It was basically same UT but character switches(yeah with small differences, but it's still kinda...Minor change is just monsterkid, wich is now also adopted by goat family). In TS!Underswap au gets more original and keeps characters personalities(it does really well), but still changing their positions in story, it's almost like Canon UT, but characters switched as well as locations(it almost could be like plot twist in cannon UT, wich made them swap positions and locations). But...3 years is still such a long wait...

loved the part where sans went "it's hangouting time" and hangouted all over the place ! ts!us is really cool i'm very excited for the next demo graah the concept in general is cool as hell too like. swapping characters but NOT swapping the personalities is MUCH more interesting than regular us imo i like how theyre changing up the areas tooe instead of making them just hte UT areas or something, starlight isles is such a fun area + KOFFIN KEEP!!!!!!!!! the original characters in this are real cool too i love koffin k theyre so cool

Fun fact: US originally had the same concept, PopcornPrince (The creator of US) confirmed it in one of deleted Tumblr posts so TS!US Is basically A reboot of the original US concept P. S. Aslo there's actually a lot of US takes with the same concept, but I think they're all suck compared to TS!US

The whole run I was wondering what the Shayy-specific name text was for... but I just realised. You use it to get the super-signal. You use the super-signal to save Burgerpant. Burgerpant gives you the IOU. The text is literally a path to the punch card. Brilliant.

This is probably one of the most wholesome slice of life UT fan projects I've even had the pleasure of playing. I'm really digging this re imagined universe that takes character roles and swaps them around while also taking creative liberties to make the world feel fresh and realistic without just a typical rehash of the original plot. I'm loving the dynamic between Sans and Papyrus in this project compared to the original version, both brothers just feel so much more in sync with one another and it just feels like they have a strong sense of brotherhood with their encounter. I'm excited to see what future chapters hold for us, I really want to see how they handle Undyne and Napstablook and what their dynamic is like compared to Alphys and Mettaton. We're in for a wild roller coaster ride.

I keep trying to write this comment but my thoughts are hard to place. In hindsight the original Underswap basically morphed into sonething strange within the old Undertale fandom because there wasnt that much to go off of, just transplants of the role and personality of one character onto another so what youre left with is basically just reskins of the unswapped characters. And hey that was fine, outside of the inevitable fandom flanderization they went though (e.g how off the wall cutesy people made swap sans) but at the end of the day there wasnt really anything besides fanon and some cool designs. What im trying to say is this take on the concept is really satisfying in execution! Theres grounding to it, theres something solid keeping the whole thing together and it shows. Its a clear story in one place, which the original Underswap just never had. Did any of my rambling make sense? I hope it did cuz im not restarting this again lol

it made sense, dont worry lol. i agree. underswap has always been a strange au to me. especially since i really didnt bother much with aus in general in the past. but this take on underswap has to be my all time favorite. it feels cohesive, and i can actually handle sans and papyrus' characters without feeling extremely weird. its refreshing seeing popular aus have a lot of passion and work put into them.

That bench thing in Ruined Home - that feels like a soft nod to A Hat in Time. The way the music slows, the way Chara kicks their feet specifically, etc.

As someone who has consumed a LOT of fan works, this still felt refreshingly original. The puzzles as fun, characters pretty amazing, meta stuff cool. The Batbones take was especially fun. Undertake fans are being fed these years lol
