We finally fully road test and review the new TTV Clutch and flywheel package on our Stage 4 Fiesta ST.
We explain why these are the best clutches in the world and why the big guns use them.
So with big power on these little pocket rockets you need bigger, stronger and better parts than OEM and as good as the OEM clutch is it's been proven a lot recently by others that the stock AP Racing clutch is not strong enough unfortunately. Thankfully TTV Racing make an amazing clutch and flywheel package for this car and they can make it how you want for the power you run and for what you use the clutch for.
We need ours for fast road and loads of trackdays etc.
See what we think of the package, watch on and of course hit us up with loads of questions in the comments section.
We will be testing out the cars 0-60 soon with this big power kit now that we have 330-350bhp and this awesome bit of kit from TTV Racing, the clutch is a 230mm 5 paddle clutch kit with a TTV Racing Lightweight Chrome Moly Steel Flywheel

Great review video. A lot of great information that can transfer over to any decent clutch upgrade, it's usually a fairly neglected upgrade until it's absolutely needed, like brakes which is pretty silly really.

Great video Alex. As you know I have this TTV clutch on my own Revo Stg4 ST180 so was really interested to see your opinion on it. I would highly recommend this clutch myself for anyone running big power on their cars. Yes you lose refinement of stock and their is a little clutch chatter at low revs and speed particularly if you have a diff fitted, but this clutch can cope with big power and is a requirement. It feels much better once bedded in and you will quickly adapt to the engagement of it. I would recommend taking your gearbox out at the same time and getting it serviced too and uprating the gearbox and engine mounts if not already done if fitting this clutch.

RT330 Driver that’s great hearing from yourself having fitted one to your car so thank you so much too 👍 that interesting about the chatter on ones with an LSD as we definitely can hearing any chatter at all which I’m pleased about as we use this car daily racking up loads of mileage on it 🙌😎 thanks for watching and thanks for the kind comments 👌

Matthias McCarthy Thanks, yeah I did underestimate how bad the wind was and it was typical too I didn’t have my wind sock for the mic either. Thank you so much for watching and really glad you liked. Great video . However do you get this judder and clutch groan if you use a Oem luk clutch on a mondeo v6 st200 or is it only because your using a ttv clutch
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks fella 🙌 no it’s highly unlikely you’ll get the same judder and groan from the OEM luk clutch. Unfortunately it’s just the nature of the race friction material version I got and the pressure plate. It’s not overly bad 90% of the time 👍✅👌

Hey! Nice video Sorry for the late comment How is it so far? Do you do Flat Foot shifting with this kit? Im trying to decide between the RTS twin friction kit and this TTV kit
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 5 ай бұрын
Thanks fella no worries at all, it was such an amazing strong clutch, way over 3 years with the clutch and about 20-25 track days etc and 25k road miles it’s a beast. You can flat foot shift with it I’m sure with the right ECU or software but I know the Revo stage 4 software didn’t support it 🙌 get the TTV

I recently had a new clutch in my 2004 Celica and it makes that type of noise too especially in reverse. Think it might be the clutch bedding in or something. I’ll tell my co worker about this clutch for his Fiesta ST.

@Joolz1982
@Joolz1982 4 жыл бұрын
Peak Performance Reviews good to know just pad material making that noise. First car for me, but it’s a 2004 Celica ST230 the least popular one sadly, did look at bug eyed ones but thought rust and miles would be an issue. Getting GT86 in a year and a bit so rear wheel drive excitement awaits :).

Great video, nice one! I’ve got an uprated TTV clutch on my 308 Gti. So what is that low frequency groaning noise when pulling off in first gear?
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks Sam, this clutch is a beast. It’s apparently just harmonics or something and it’s normal, we’ve never had any issues with it even when pulling apart to inspect etc 🙌 Thanks for watching please stick around and subscribe as we need more good people like you on here.

@@PeakPerformanceReviews It’s stage 2 so decat, water/methanol system, simple Pipercross panel filter, Forge dump valve & Dinan coil packs. 315bhp & 400nm. Manual. 1.6L Prince Turbo engine developed by BMW & Peugeot! Can only weights 1205kg as standard so a bhp/ton of about 261.5! That’s about M2 numbers for 1/2 the money 👌👍👊

Been through a few clutches with my STage 3 FiST, and i'm totally over it. The last one lasted 2K. Looking for a clutch that can handle the honest abuse of an enthusiastic driver. Is this the one?
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 2 жыл бұрын
I had 2 stock clutches and an ST200 clutch and none lasted at this power level, this one done 15k miles and felt brand new even after then. It does make a little bit of noise but if you need something strong this is the only clutch and the lightweight flywheel is a work of art too. Thanks for watching fella, where are you in the world and what’s your spec and power level?

@@PeakPerformanceReviews Cheers from Australia. Good to know you rate this clutch. My car has been off the road since March this year and this virus has made getting special parts in Australia impossible. Mine's Stage 3 COBB mods and 200kW at the wheels. Not sure of torque, but id say somewhere around 450nm/330ft/lb at least to be safe!
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 2 жыл бұрын
@@MultiShmed your are welcome, yes mine was circa 340ish bhp and hit the track hard with it 15000 miles+ and no issues. But or sound on engagement if you don’t slip it right but no dramas or issues and tbh that’s what you have to accept with monster clutches
@MultiShmed
@MultiShmed 2 жыл бұрын
@@PeakPerformanceReviews No doubt a monster clutch is noisier; I kind of like the sound because it means its working! Looks like you have a bit more power than me (I'm probably around 280bhp i guess?). How has the car performed overall since making the vid? Interested in any other weaknesses you have detected once modified... i'd suggest changing the master & slave cylinders with a new clutch (from experience).
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 2 жыл бұрын
@@MultiShmed yeah I’m the same, to be honest it hasn’t had any issues whatsoever. I would say at around 340bhp with these stock type size tyres it’s almost or is a little much for the car and chassis low down. Once you get going it’s no issue and it flys, I think 280-300 is better suited unless you get a track biased tyre and use it in the dry times. Thanks for watching. Please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you around on here 🙌
