TubShroom Drain Hair Catcher: amzn.to/3Hovrzj Hi Guys, 2 months ago I put up this video on unclogging a drain in 5 minutes using the drain weasel: • Unclog a Drain in 5 Mi... After the drain was cleared, the water ran without any issues. I'll clean the tub later but first I wanted to show you how to keep the drain clean. I tried out this TubShroom. There are lots of hair catchers out there and I was hoping this would work. If you want to get it, the link is right below the video. I removed my old drain cover and screw, and put the TubShroom in. All you do is set it in the opening. It will stick out about a ½ inch and that’s how it’s supposed to be. Make sure to measure the drain opening before you buy this TubShroom but it should fit the standard 1.5 inch diameter drain. It’s silicone and comes in different colors, I got this gray one. It fits snugly inside and I haven’t had any issues with knocking it over or it coming out of the drain. It is far enough down in the drain so you shouldn’t have that problem. You can see the water flowing quickly down the drain with the TubShroom in it. With some other hair stopper designs like this one, the water will collect around the stopper and you’ll be standing in that water while you bathe. I was at a neighbor’s house the other day and they had this stopper in the bathtub drain. It collected some hair but interfered with the water flow. This one has great reviews but why would you stand in dirty water while showering, it’s the same as if your drain is clogged. With this TubShroom, you don’t have that issue. By the way, TubShroom did not pay me for this review, I bought this myself to try it out like I do with most of my reviews. After 7 days, I took the TubShroom out and this is what it looked like. There’s a lot of hair, soap and oil residue because we oil our hair. Sorry this is out of focus. It’s very easy to pull off the hair and gunk. Wipe it with a paper towel to get any of the residue off. Cleaning takes less than a minute. Put it back in and that’s it. If this much is caught in the stopper after a week, can you imagine what it would look like after 2 months. I clean it almost every week and my drain has been clog free for 2 months. Definitely clean it each week and if you have an extra large family, more often. Just pull it out and check it after everyone’s done showering so you have an idea of how much has collected in the stopper. This inexpensive little stopper has saved me from calling the plumber, saving me a lot of money. Remember to unclog your drain first, make sure the water is flowing properly, then put the tubshroom in. Definitely, buy it and the link is right below this video. If you’ve tried this yourself, share your experience in the comments. I hope you found this useful. Subscribe and I’ll see you next time, thanks for watching.
