I appreciate your honesty. This will be my next watch. I hope Tudor addresses some of the issues you mention, but honestly I'd take one as-is. cheers mate.

It's one of my favourite pieces in my collection. The lume, on the beach at night is like a torch guiding the way. Just Awesome. Agree with you about the durability and lack of scratches for long term wear. It has surprised me.

The MT5400 in my 54 is amazing, too. +2 daily. It's a pleasure setting the time and hacking the movement. The crown's clutch makes it easy to screw down. People take issue with these movements ending up in Chanel, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Norqain, and Fortis, but it generates revenue for Tudor, keeping them in business.

I just got one and I've had it for about a week. In my honest opinion, it's the perfect watch.

Almost, for me the micro adjust needs to be smaller increments, take off the dive extension, make the straps quick change and make it so the T-fit can be used with the rubber strap. I’m not picky at all 🤪

Hey Thomas!, back in 2015 i bought a new Submariner (114060), got it for $7400 ($1100 off retail) from a trusted seller over on TRF. Beautiful watch and loved the Glidelock bracelet though for the 2 years i kept it, she sat in a drawer mostly. Why you ask? Too blingy. I really felt uneasy at times wearing it in public, the looks I’d get from people was though i was gentry. I just didn't care that it gave off that social impression. I’ve been diver mad since then wearing/owning mostly Seiko (MM300,MM600 MacDaddy SpeedDrive=:-) Had a Sumo but sold it, kept the SKX007. Anywho, bought the Pelly39 recently &what I like about it, she’s not blingy like the Sub. Sure, the sunburst dial has a bit of shine to her as well as the bezel insert but not nearly as flashy (bezel insert) as the Ceramic Sub’s. The Ti case and bracelet on my Pelagos 39 gives off or looks to have a matte finish, s’not screaming steal me like my 6 digit Sub. I don’t begrudge anyone for wearing the new 6 digit Submariners, they’re beautiful watches yet they’re not for me. At the risk of beating this horse/point to death, the new Subs scream “Look at me”. That’s what it felt like when I wore mine. I’d say this, if you want the public to notice the watch you’re wearing, then by all means, if you like divers, buy a Submariner. Others may have better and different ideas

Just bought one of these and have had it for about a week. Absolutely love the watch but agree on a few of your points. No quick swap for straps, rubber strap isn’t a great fit, and can’t always get the perfect fit without half links.

It has some drawbacks but is a superb watch. Enjoy!

I was very close to purchasing this, but opted for the 54. After learning lume falling out of the insert, coupled with the 21mm lug width, I was turned off. I have an Islander SKX013 with a ceramic lumed bezel. The lume fell out in several places, causing me to have to purchase a replacement. It's a good looking watch. I'm sure Tudor will sort out these issues with enough time and customer feedback. I hope they release this model in blue, because I will go straight to the AD and get it.
@wheelsandwatches8 ай бұрын
The lume falling out bizarrely is limited to the 42mm Pelagos models. Not sure why but doesn’t impact the 39.
@RabbitWatchShop8 ай бұрын
@@wheelsandwatches Perhaps they updated the formula or injection process. I’ll play it safe by keeping it out of the summer heat, and will only use lukewarm water to clean it off. I find myself cleaning the Pelagos more than my SS watches, since dirt and grime tends to show more on the dark titanium alloy.

Tried this on several times and still think it's far too small and light I'm so glad I opted for the pelagos LHD which I love by the way ( it is thick but it fits under a work shirt fine). If I had a smaller wrist I may have chosen the pelagos 39.

Really interesting. I’m about to pull the trigger on a Tudor pelagos 42. I like titanium. I have a titanium citizen sky hawk and it’s the most comfortable watch I have. I had a brietling superocean heritage 44 that I sold as it was uncomfortable. Fabulous looking, but to chunky.

I've had mine for almost a year now so was interested and intrigued by your video. First of all, my wrist is just over 6inch and on the bracelet fits perfectly. I do have a problem with the sharpness of the edges. How can you not? The edges of the links, the clasp and the whole bracelet are sharper than any other watch I own. I've had them dig into my wrist when picking up my kids. The underside of the enormous clasp is unfortunately annoying. It's just so big and a scratch magnet as a result. I really wish they went with a smaller clasp like on a rolex. Mine is scratched a lot there and I will try your 3M pad idea. I totally agree with the rubber strap is crap. Wish it came with the nato like the bigger Pelagos. Now, something I found odd is I don't have any play with the bracelet fit like you do. I reckon you should definitely return yours as that doesn't look right. Also, I don't have marks on the dial. None. I do have slight issue with lume but I think everyone does. There was talk of earlier released models have bigger issues but honestly, a square blob vs a small applied area will never glow the same. So have to live with it. All in all, I love this piece. Excellent value for money. But the bracelet (and clasp specifically) could be better improved on the next one.
@wheelsandwatches9 ай бұрын
Glad you are enjoying yours. I think the size of my wrist might mask the complaints others have around the sharpness. It has never been an issue for me. They are great watches but are ultimately mass produced and as such are flawed.

great review, is the lume fine on your watch. keep hearing the lume on the hands is not as bright as the rest? any truth in that? thanks
@wheelsandwatches4 ай бұрын
It is true. The plots are solid lume and the hands are applied so they don’t last as long. Not a massive issue though at all as the lume on the hands is great. It’s just the blocks are so bright it makes the hands look average which they are certainly not.
@p.a777511 ай бұрын
Good video! Surprised that with a 7inch wrist you didn't go for the 42 but that said it looks perfect. The pelagos bezel is nearly up there with rolex but like you say some other qc issues with tudor. I have a bb gmt and it's not perfect but at a price point I guess .
@wheelsandwatches11 ай бұрын
I did have the 42 blue Pelagos but the bezel seized twice and the lume fell out the bezel so I returned it. I liked it but couldn’t get a perfect fit and ended up finding it too tooly. Lovely watch though. I had a GMT too but found it a tad to heavy. Loved the style though.

End link play isn’t much better on a current Rolex explorer 36…. The play is maybe 1/4th of a mm… anything less and end links won’t easily slide in and out. They aren’t custom fit to each watch

The funny thing that turned me off P39 was the fact it was too shiny for my taste. Once I saw the 42 I was sold, after that I got the MN FXD and right now... I have 0 desire for anything else, I even sold some of my watches since I don't wanna bother, I really like my Pelagos and my FXD. As for the easy strap change, I don't think Wilsdorf Foundation will make that either for Rolex or Tudor.

7:20 This is the kind of thing that makes me think that luxury watches are just too much of a rip-off. 4.5k or so, and the end-links fitment is just as bad or mediocre as a $250 Citizen (which is a great watch for that money, but something costing 18 times more than it should be leagues above it in every single one of those small details I think)
@wheelsandwatches3 ай бұрын
There are certainly elements that are not up to scratch. The retail price of watches has gotten silly. Entry luxury is now £3k plus and it was not that long ago that was omega seamaster money. It is becoming ever more unattainable and I wonder if all it will do is serve to damage the industry as a whole.
@leeharding830611 ай бұрын
I nearly bought one of these but the quality was shocking. The end links were baggy like yours and the dive extension was utterly awful. I could see contamination on the dial and the bezel was almost seized up. The hands had virtually no lume at all on the one I was offered. I also know many people who have had many quality issues with their Tudor watches including the new 54. I think Tudor has just become a overpriced fashion watch brand now with dodgy quality issues. I definitely won’t be buying anymore unfortunately.

Totally agree, I’m on my 2nd Tudor. I wanted one of these in 9/22 when they came out yet demand out stripped supply so, i bought a BB Heritage, strap model yet bought an aftermarket Jubilee (Forstner). Lovely watch yet the best was yet to come, the timing was impeccable. Took 3 weeks before it would not quite lose a second. Fast forward to this past Saturday, I bought the Pelagos 39 the night before, had it overnighted. So for owning/wearing it going on 5 days now and am seeing +1 to+1.5 seconds, to date. I’m quite happy with both & it looks like all the QC complaints have been sorted as I’ve found nothing to gripe about with mine@dylanbailey6286

I have huge problems with the bezel on my Pelagos 39. Whenever I have contact with water on the watch, the bezel becomes difficult or impossible to turn until the water drips out or dries out. I sent it to Tudor, who replaced the ball bearing on the bezel. Despite the service, I still have the same problem. We even tested the Pelagos models 39/42 at AD under water, they all had the same problem, that can't be right?

That's definitely wrong he is pronouncing it exactly right. At the end of the day there is no "correct" way to say any word, you do it exactly how you like it and people will either understand you or not. He is pronouncing it as everyone else is so in that context you would more likely be misunderstood saying it abnormally like that.
