What warms my heart about these findings is the realisation that they serve to bolster the feeling, the suspicion if you like, that our lives are perhaps embedded in a larger purpose; that we are akin to cells within our own bodies who have little or no knowledge of the larger purpose of the Human Being they serve. Michael has allowed us to catch a glimpse into a vaster intelligence of almost untold quality, for, each time we succeed in understanding some little part of it, we stand in awe at the complexity of the things that come into view - of which we have no comprehension of at all. As each layer peels away we gasp, yet again, in astonishment at the handiwork of this intelligence.

Mike is gently ushering in a radical and complete revolution in our understanding of Biology that also has profound implications for mapping the complex space of life, form and intelligence (and finding our place within it).

This work by Michael Levin and his co-workers is certainly worth several Nobel prizes. No doubt about it. What makes me sigh about our future however is the following: we live in a time when humans are already in a titanic struggle for survival which stems from their inability to understand the other. Polarisation of thought and opinion is everywhere. Entire countries are being wrecked this very day (May 2023) due to the clash of ideologies. Now, the future Michael envisages (and is doubtless somewhat uneasy about) is troubling because it would present the current generation with problems with which it is in no position to grapple with. Since the novel technology would seem to be just around the corner, it seems unlikely that we will be able to adapt in time to face those challenges. This is yet another example of a nascent technological leap which may be unleashed on an unprepared planet and increasingly inflexible humanity. Let us hope that the new creatures, entities and what have you will be limited in scope and location so that at least some parts of the world can get on with either annihilating or cooperating with each other without having the distraction of deciding the fate of wayward cyborgs!

We are living in AMAZING times so tough they same to be so transformative they are - alone getting such high quality lectures for free globally for everyone interested and the openesss, enthusiasm and love to share - makes me very thankful and optimistic (beside all the darkness) for the future to come. Michael Levin and Demis Hassabis (with all there great people around them) are for me 2 light figures in the realm of modern science - and show me that science in itself is also able and willing to tranform in itself! What ethical constraints would Levin place around humanity's path forward with these discoveries?

do people after amputation loosing part of their memory or scale of goals? I relate it to that context of shrinkage of system if there is a systemic electric memory this could explain how our memory system is very connected to part of brain responsible for vision and orientation in terrain that's why methods as memory palace work so well we know about behaviours changing after transplantation is grounding helping in regeneration? balancing the inner electric system can obviously help but what if you can borrow memory from ground somehow? some people say eating food from own region is crucial for health it would change our view on changing location of living if we were adapted to own place for millennia or on wearing shoes, importing food e.c. what about other elements of climate as local weather, different look of sunrise that regulates our circadian cycles could it also affect selforganisation in systems such as societies nations families? aren't feromones similar in being network of information sharing finding natural compatibility between people? is body reacting badly to stress as a deep disturbance to it's regular pattern of operating? isn't it similar to loosing a limb or source of food?
