I put some of my fabrics in the photocopier then cut up sheets of the actual prints, to design my first sampler quilt. Then stuck the pieces together again so as to not get my layout messed up. Just lay the fabric pieces on the copied pieces to get it sorted out.

Wow thank you so much, i am a fairly new quilter having tried to make a disappearing 9 patch first for my grandson and making a block surrounded by triangles to make a star effect with wee checquered block as the other block, this i'm still to finish because the pattern was for a single bed and i wanted it for a kingsize. Anyway, seeing all the different designs you could make with simple blocks to start with was absolutely magical. And thank you for showing how each step of the way should look, because as a newbie really it opened my eyes and mind to the patterns that could be done with a simple block. The best video I’ve watched by far, on how to do such easy patterns for quilts. Well explained.

I have seen only a couple of disappearing block versions in the past...so I am happy I found your video. I like the way you show the options...and the suggestion to practice on paper is good for many reasons. When cutting apart blocks we are getting into "bias country" and need to gently handle the sub-sections because bias edges stretch readily and stretch is the enemy of fitting pieces back together.

This was excellent even I was able to fallow it thank you.

I just found you. And this is the first video I have watched. You do a marvelous job of explaining and showing these quilting secrets. (I call them) I'm more of a clothes maker than a quilter but when someone needs a baby quilt it gives me the opportunity to work with flannel (one of my favorite fabrics). I don't follow directions very well (lazy and short attention span) and these simple tricks to have on a video to go back to is fantastic to me. Great work!! I will visit your website for sure!!
