Agreed, especially since all the Ashley haters who just cry "she's a racist" and leave it at that seem to 1) think that having a negative opinion of people somehow undermines all the good she does and 2) conveniently ignore the fact that actual racism is one of the most prominent elements in the Mass Effect fiction. You're more hard-pressed to find a character who *wouldn't* have had at least one of the following thoughts at some point: "Humans. Always demanding special treatment." "Violence isn't the answer? Try telling that to a krogan. Those brutes don't know anything else." "Damned batarians. Think they own everything." "I think I stepped in vorcha shit... or maybe it was just a vorcha. Hard to tell." "Leave it to the volus to only care about the credits." "Do salarians ever shut up?" Or any number of similar things about the various other species.

I swear, I must be the only person who romanced Ashley in the first game, since I thought there'd be some kind of...you know, personal growth and drop in racism? And I got rewarded by basically having her stay the same, and not even be romanceable anymore later on. Woooooo.

@@dannyacevedo174 Jack has Shockwave, and uses shotguns. Tulok can figure out how to turn that into a completely different build. Hell, every keyblade wielder he's made plays differently.

@@sashacollins5399 he just means game order, not necessarily appearance in game. and since he's already done Kaidan, Liara, Tali, Garrus, Wrex, and now Ashley. Jack is free game and could very well be the next ME build.

Played a character somewhat modeled after Jack. GoOlock/Aberrant Sorcerer. Telekinetic feat gets some mini shoves Invocations lets your eldritch blasts move creatures as well. Early on in sorcerer you can twin levitate to with your target movement options to push and pull creatures around while they are floating.

Pretty sure he has already built Ash from the Evil Dead. Edit: Nope, he hasn't, I've bamboozled myself.

The difference isn't that Tali has a cute voice and personality. It's that we don't learn that the Geth can be good guys until the second game, and she doesn't either, so *we have to grow along with her.* Ashley is racist towards groups that we consider allies from start to finish. So no, the growth isn't the same - Tali only knew the Geth in one light because her people were forced off planet by the Geth, having no idea that the Geth were *pretty justified* in doing so. Hell, the one time she does point a gun at Legion, a member of a species that has done objectively worse to her people than any of the species Ashley hates has done to humanity, is because Legion is literally sending data about her people to *his* people. Stealing information from her and sending it to a group that, as far as she's aware at this point, would happily destroy her own people. Ashley, on the other hand, spews racist remarks about species who you keep as crewmates and would fit right in with Cerberus. If I recall correctly, she literally complains about having alien crewmembers aboard the vessel. Sure, she gets better - in the third game, after people were already done with her bullshit.

@@jeremiahsnelson5644 She isn't a squadmate option in the second game, so I think it's unfair to say it took until the third game for her growth to happen when we didn't see much of her in Mass Effect 2.

​@@jeremiahsnelson5644 You are also ignoring the fact that the war that is the source of Ash's hate and mistrust ended 28 years before ME1 took place. For context, Ashley was 27 during ME 1 and 2. Meaning her entire life was affected by the First Contact War. He grandfather's name was dragged through the mud. He father's name meant nothing. For her entire career, she was black-listed and given the worst assignments and completely passed over for promotions and commendations that she rightfully earned because of her name, not her actions. Her mistrust is borne out from this. She only knew humans (in large part due to her only being stationed at human bases in the ass-end of the galaxy) until the Normandy. So her prejudice is understandable, wrong entirely, but understandable. What changed this lifetime of prejudice? Experience. Meeting nonhumans, forming connections and from them learning about the cultures. (Take Ash to Thesia in ME3 with Liara if you want to see her growth firsthand.) This is not unlike real changes in perspectives we have in RL when we gain new insight or experience.
