I think the DM decided he got a lot of buffs / WD a lot of nerfs because he literally just shattered her world view by being himself, so she was far more receptive to this kind of stuff. And arguably it was a combo move. He also used persuasion and maybe a few other things.

I love Steven Universe and how the central theme is empathy. We need more of it tbh. Also, Steven is a joy to watch his character development tbqh. Started off annoying kid character and grew into one of the most mature teenage characters I’ve seen in children’s media.

Damn, this is probably one of the best support character builds I have ever seen, Tulok. It’s actually a really cool concept. I think you may have sold Steven’s damage dealing abilities short considering the high level smites he can do, but still, awesome build. But, you know what other character has AMAZING CHA? Austin Powers lol

Honnjyx VII I’m imagining it would probably have multiple levels of College of Glamour Bard since Austin is a dancer and a lot of its spells/class features would fit Austin’s mojo. I think he would probably take at least a level in Monk for Martial Arts so he can “JUDO CHOP!” And then I am thinking a few levels of Rogue to go with him being a spy, though idk what subclass would fit for Austin

I feel like Half Elf sells the "child of two peoples" aspect of Steven VERY well. And Gems are just humans with special abilities. Like not needing to sleep! (sound familiar?) The problem with adapting steven into D&D is that deciding his race based on his abilities doesn't work- ALL of his abilities are based on his in universe race! He's a human-gem hybrid, granting him gem powers. None of his powers are earned through study of books or learning at a college of bards or becoming an oath driven warrior- he just sort of Figures himself out as he goes. That'd make him best fit Sorcerer lore-wise but he plays so much more like a Paladin/Bard multiclass that it'd be a crime to play a Sorcerer Steven! overall Tulok did the best he could here- I think this is a VERY 'Steven' build.

Episode #192 of the Fire Emblem stats: Steven Universe. Steven's honestly identical to Garnet in terms of weapon strengths and weaknesses, but heavy armor's a budding talent instead. In addition, he has strength in faith since he has healing spit. Steven has high HP, defense, and charm but is otherwise fairly weak in every other area.

fair build, but was expecting a few levels of wizard, specifically abjuration wizard for the arcane ward, which creates a magic shield that absorbs damage and has HP equal to the level of abjuration spell you cast (in this case, a lot of them) times your wizard level I think. Plus at 6th level, you can put on other people to protect them, so basically what protection does but better since it has the ability to reduce all damage to nothing if the ward has high enough health instead of just disadvantage and it can protect from AOE spells too
@davidpantaleoni64923 жыл бұрын

Nice build. It would probably work in my style of game. I do hate multi classing paladin and not going far enough to get the aura but it makes sense here. My main reason to comment though is about people hating true strike. I mean it isn't great but in the right campaign it can be perfectly useful. In straight up combat it is lame, just attack twice instead. However we use stealth a lot in our game and if you are ambushing someone true strike is a pretty good start to the battle. We also often use large maps and if you lack the movement to get to your target and attack, moving part way and casting true strike can be a good option. Not saying it is great or anything but a fully serviceable if situational cantrip.
@itwasidio17363 жыл бұрын
