-28 and a clear blue sky, makes for a day for Tundra adventures. One rabbit snared but the clip was corrupted on the GoPro, (perhaps due to cold temps?)
I was stopped by Wildlife Enforcement Officers who both loved the portable pens. It was a great day in the woods... Cold, but beautiful...

It was good to see the trails being policed keeping folks honest out there. Do I agree with the wire regulations we have on the island portion of of Province? Well no I don't, but the Marten numbers seem to be climbing, so how can I argue that facts.... It was very good of them to do a re-enactment of the stop. They have a tough job to do, but when you follow the rules and regs, interact with them in a polite manner, check-stops are quick and painless. It was good to see them out there doing a great job and I look forward to seeing them again, hopefully in the near future. Also it is good to see the positive comments below regarding Wildlife Enforcement Officers and Check-Stops...

Quite obvious you don't no shit. One woof kills between 18 and 22 elk a year. They nearly wiped out the elk in yellow stone park were 25 k now 2500 at last count. There's never been any sickness in yellow stone or any other states ever 2 kill that many animals in history. Over population of woof killing 24 7 is the cause.you can try to white wash it 2 cover your fucked up analogy. The human is the top of the food chain they couldn't wipe out a population of game 2 feed there families. Killing a couple animals a year. Predators can and are every day

Glad you enjoyed it, and yes... Makes the check-stops painless for all involved if you had dotted our ii's and crossed your tt's and these two gents were kind enough to due an re-enactment of the stop... As you know, they have a tough job dealing with the general public, but if everyone followed the rules and regs, it would make everyone involved lives much easier.

Within 90 minutes drive you can have 350 million year old fossils, scenic coastlines and whales, walk on the earths mantle and on the floor of an ancient ocean of Iapetus that predates Pangea, see the barrens, the taiga forests, dense forests of Newfoundlands tree species, sandy beaches, etc.... It's a special place in this every changing world.

That's why I took it off, it was buckled when riding with it on. But because I was hunting, snaring or trapping I was not mandated to wear a helmet at all.

Nice little adventure. Cold but nice if you are dressed for it. Funny thing about rabbits in the winter. They run like crazy back & forth on a run and won't go on it again for days. A bit of snow though gets thme on the move. Nice to see wildlife keeping an eye on things. Catch you on the next one. I see fur in your future.

Some people are probably wondering how you have your ears out in those temps but the other day here it was a sunny and warm -17 in the hills in Cumberland NS. No wind like you say, I've been colder with more clothes on at +13 in the wind.

Cody I don't have any experience with that engine, I have the 4 stroke 600 ACE in my Tundra. From with I hear about the 600 EFI is that they are 2 stroke, good on gas and oil, and has loads of power. I'm a 4 stroke guy, who just likes to putt putt around in the woods.

@After5Outdoors 6 ай бұрын
@NLGhostWolf I do like the 4stroke but I sure like having the backup of a pull cord if the battery decides to fail, also a little lighter. Thanks for the input!

Nice video. 6 core wire for rabbit is a bit weak i find. Should be back to solid wire. I wouldn't want a rabbit to break the 6 core and get away to probably die from injuries.be a total waste of a good meal. Keep the awesome videos coming. :)
@NLGhostWolf
@NLGhostWolf 7 ай бұрын
It is either 6 strand picture cord or 22 gauge brass wire, they are the only legal wire we are allow to use in Newfoundland, approximately 25% weaker wire then what we use to use in the past. This is due to the pine marten recovery program. I wish we could use the old wire, but I understand why we can't and that we have to try and make the best out of what we have.

Charlie, is it law across Canada that you have to wear a helmet on a snow machine? You mentioned later in the video that when hunting and utilizing a snow machine that you don't have to be wearing a helmet. Did I gather all that correctly? I just wanted to ask because I see that You and Daniel both utilize your helmets often but at the end of the video it looked as though you just had a Fleece toque on with your goggles? IDK, just curious about life up there. Lol You also Your Grandpa was in what you referred to as the "Blue Hills", a little useless information is in the County I live in and a little of the neighboring County to the North have a big hilly area called "The Blue Hills".
@NLGhostWolf
@NLGhostWolf 7 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what the rest of Canada has to do with regards to helmets but we never had to wear them here until a couple of years ago. Now you have to wear them unless you are snaring, hunting or trapping where you are stopping often to explore sign. Yes I remember fishing the blue hills ponds years and years ago. You could always catch a good feed of trout there...

@NLGhostWolf Awesome Charlie! Thanks for the info. If you get board I got a nice buck in November here in Wisconsin! The Explicit version shows my true un edited excitement but the Clean version is good too. If you have time. It's the only hunting I get to do now. I'm pretty crippled up this last year so I couldn't do much, but at hunting season (deer) there's help around to get me to my stand. I want to rabbit and squirrel snare so bad!! Have a blessed day!

@@NLGhostWolfYes, I believe it was just a general question to see if you had one because there is a chance you could go over 20klm/hr however like you said you don't need to wear a helmet while hunting/rabbit snaring and under 20klm/hr.

@@NLGhostWolf not likely they are the ones causing the loss of game from the stupid regulations. They brought woofs from Canada down and reintroduced them in the Pacific Northwest now we have lost our ungulate population 2 a point of that alot of game is nearly wiped out. Old timers got rid of them 4 a reason.
@NLGhostWolf
@NLGhostWolf 7 ай бұрын
First off it's not the ones enforcing the rules and regs that introduced the wolves to your states, that decision would have come from the Wildlife Biologists, not the troops on the ground. Plus there are a lot of other factors at work then the wolves. I was stationed in Cold Lake AB where they have the largest known wolf pack recorded, the wildlife there was incredible. The wolves couldn't reduce the numbers quick enough and like many states in the Northwest they too got CWD into the herds of ungulates. Nature will eventually balance itself out.
@user-vo8fb1yh8q
@user-vo8fb1yh8q 6 ай бұрын
@@NLGhostWolf the woofs been around for thousands of years they have parasites that cause the diseases. Every place woof dedicated and a ungulate comes in contact gets in there system and kill s them it was wiped out when the old timers killed them.off in the 1920s. We don't have the big herds of game 2 feed all of them. The woof that were here were timber woof not the Arctic wolf they brought down from Canada. Humans are the top predators now can't even feed there families Colorado just made the biggest mistake ever getting woof from Oregon. The enviros want to make it like the 1800s. There's people in every state canyon and land no room 4 any more predators. Grizzly lion humans black bears not enough meat to go around. Carp cops are on a power trip 2 make sure people don't get any game. Going to be a blood bath average person knows what is happening and are sick of there families going hungry when predators are shitting the meat could of fed there families out in the woods. Meat 7 bucks a pound. Twice as many predators as they tell the public
