Great video Charlie , the simple things in life , goes to show you that you don’t need all the expensive rods/ tackle to catch a meal of trout like they did years ago. Looks like you had a blast! Thanks for sharing and have a great day my friend

took me right back to my childhood Scott. I never had a bamboo pole, but I had many alder poles hidden away along side all my favourite fishing holes. A pocket knife and a few worms and you were all set to catch a meal of trout for your family. Made a boy feel like a man walking through the front door with a limit of trout.

I have to tell you this brought me straight back to my youth, and this was the most fun I had trout fishing in years. I'm guessing there will be many different length long poles in my future... As the world gets more and more complicated, stepping back to the basics allows for a much needed reset.... This was fun. I never got to use the bamboo poles, I remember seeing them in stores, but I can tell you me and my buddies all had alder poles stored away at our favourite fishing holes. And we had no troubles getting a limit of trout back in those days... I can see me having a fleet of these long poles in all the different lengths they come in.

I was unaware that you could still get one , so that’s awesome. By coincidence I seen a lady using a telescopic long pole they bought them many years ago at the sport shop on water street. But she never played the trout like you she flicked them right in over her shoulder. lol

Enjoyed the video.. Caught a lot of sea trout off that beach back in the 60's/70's, We used spinning gear but back then you could buy bamboo poles and they were used to fish similar to how you used that pole. There was a kid a bit older than us that used it exclusively and would fish off shag point quite often for sea trout. he would just use a plain hook with a bit of red cloth on it, he used to get a lot of trout. Many red shirts had cloth missing back in those day. lol.. I enjoyed the video and look forward to the next one. Take care and stay safe.

They will not stop cutting until there is nothing left to cut. I am not surprised. Our government officials in this province don't do anything to deterr this sort of abuse . This is how all of our resources are managed or should I say mismanaged. Very sad indeed.

I've heard that if people only keep the bigger fish the fish genetically inclined to grow bigger are fished out so they become rarer in a pond. It is better to keep smaller ones for the frying pan with only the odd one to two pounder. Just a theory I've heard.
@NLGhostWolf
@NLGhostWolf Ай бұрын
yeah I think over fishing is a major problem, some people just keep hitting the same ponds over and over until they are fished out.

Outstanding View on it New View.... A little play on words there. This backpack has now become my fishing backpack as it holds the rods in the pack perfectly allowing for hands free travel into and out of the steep river valleys. While carrying my fishing vest, knives, flashlights, camera gear and tripod, water, and sandwiches, rain jacket.... All while the rods and perfectly protected in the confines of the pack.
