I've installed it last year, so quite a while back. Like I've said in the video (you didn't watch it, did you?) 😁, the exhaust doesn't remove the OPF but it does remove the rear silencer. As for the rest, you are correct. You won't pass an inspection with this milltek system

@@TunedIntoCars I saw the videos, but in the first one you said that you won't install anything because it is illegal in the EU, and then second video you show us the miltek installed... hence my confusion, perhaps you found a "legal" system between both videos... anyway thanks for the explanations. Basically there is no legal system, except perhaps the overpriced M performance exhaust.

There's no M performance exhaust option for the competition, at least in Europe. But there are plenty of fully legal systems. Even milltek has one. Basically most systems that only replace the backbox of the car, is legal. Just make sure it's EC approved before you buy

Listen to the AA equal length midpipe. It completely transforms the sound. So it's easily fixable if you live outside Europe

@@TunedIntoCars After some digging i found two to other brands that seems to comply with the regulations, Bastuck and Eisenmann, the bastuck muffler is "only" at 2500 euros, could be an option as well..

No, not really. I didn't say or suggest that export models sound better. They sound the same but they are louder I only said you can fit an active autowerke equal length midpipe that does solve the sound problem.

It’s not an EU/UK problem. All M2 Competition and CS models have this issue. The US doesn’t suffer from the GLF/OPF requirement, but there is still a 14” difference in pipe length from one bank to the other. The only way to solve it is to equalize the length between to two pipes. I have a US spec 2020 M2C and have the same issue.

@@C3Motorsport you talk cluelessly, because the CS has an altered exhaust to start with. As Paul notes, and you not being the only M2 owner, export cars are indeed louder, and I add better sounding than EU and UK ones. Some of the USDM options make it sound tinnier and cheaper to the point the OEM exhaust isn't bad at all especially after the pipe "cure" overtime. What happens up top, due to the twin turbo setup is relevant of course, but not the whole story and with less effect on cars without OPFs. If you really must have a louder and raspier M2C, an MPE is the best option there is to my ears (which is what CS almost adopts). Everything else is wasted energy. You go around claiming otherwise from Germany and holding on the fact that your ex N55 sounded better... when it's essentially a different engine. This background explains your comment fully :) (and have you physically checked if you have OPFs anyway?)

@@nessuno5403 not clueless at all. I’ve been under my car several times as well as several others (EU spec, and CS). The pipes are all physically different lengths. I don’t understand why you seem to have trouble accepting that. The particulate filters muffle the sound, they don’t change the tone. Its still raspy with or without it. And while the back box on the CS is different, the pipes leading up to it have the same length problem.and yes, the N55 didn’t suffer from the issue because it was a single turbo, so there is no unequal pipe to cause the raspy sound.

But have you listened to them in real life? You won't get a good idea of how loud an exhaust is on KZfaq. Microphones can't really capture the sound properly. I think, even in the EU, replacing the backbox makes quite a difference. In volume at least. Acoustics is subjective, of course.

@@TunedIntoCars I only heard a few in person and the few I heard would be very embarrassing to have on my M2C. I do agree with you that the utube platform does not do the exhaust sounds justice. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos

@@TunedIntoCars very true... whenever it goes up on a ramp i’d be so embarrassed though😂 it looks like you’ve let the apprentice weld you an exhaust with the spare bends😂 plus i’m sure the flow of the midpipe will be horrendous!
