If that Cold War scenario saw hordes of Badger Blinder and Backfire aircraft approaching the carrier group Tomcats would launch with the heavy 6 AIM-54 Phoenix missiles and the launch rails that hold the Phoenix into the "tunnel" between the engines. I find it impressive that the F-14 in the mid 70's could carry 6 1000 pound missiles on over 1500 pound launch rails at Mach 1.8.

Right. Su 25 and Su 24 front-line. 5500 km and supersonic speed defines it as a long-range strategic bomber. It can also carry nuclear missiles.

Your spot on,,Yes nobody would see it coming,,Because it fires its payload about 1000 miles from the target,,Which is about 700 miles out of reach of any current air defence systems radar or missiles,,And we know from Ukraine and the Ukrainian minister for defence who only two weeks ago in a interview with channel 4 news ,,He admitted that since the start of the war ,The Ukrainians using the patriot system have not once been able to hit a hypersonic missile or even hit one supersonic missile,,As attested to by Russia destroying 7 patriot systems so far ,,So yes this aircraft would be untouchable and its payload unstoppable by any western air defence system..

They are definitely using ear plugs, it gives you better protection, less discomfort, doesn't cancel human voice and you don't even need to yell to communicate.
