Same as croquest 87... also wire brushed the shaft well done... Changing insides without balancing: Small turbio dies after 20k km Biger can hold up to 100k tops... Its chepaer and easier to buy ,,ready core ''

If only our countries had great friendship, I would have personally driven my vehicles over from Rajasthan to have to have them serviced by these skilled hands. Imagine how much business would flourish had things been better. Anyway, hoping for better future, I am parting my words here. Amazing guys. Fantastic work on that turbo.

yes. this little boy and all the others in these videos learn very early tons of practical skills , and if they are smart, they find out much more with learning by doing and trial & error. but many/ too much they will never learn, because instead sitting in school, they work and so they never learn, how to read and understand a manual in english, or even understand the physics behind the stuff they work on. here on this video the consequence is very good to see: the treatment of the rotor and especially turbine during dismantling- the balance of this is fucked up completely after -because the rotor runs 60.000-80.000 rpm, so very small changes off balance create very big forces, destroying the bearing very fast. (an off-balance of 1gr means ~100 kg centripetal force at rated speed...) spray painting the compressor wheel makes the same effect.

It's already balanced from the factory, as long as the inlet/ exhaust turbine blades are put back in the same position as the guy in the video has done it remains balanced. The work done here is just as good as any European workshop. We sell ex CCCP turbine genset, diesel gen sets, turbine heli and warbird (MIG 23's). We've just rebuilt the turbos for a 38litre 2 stroke V10 in exactly the same way. If you're just replacing bearings and seals they don't have to be rebalanced. Same goes for the jet engines we rebuild, if the turbine cassette blades are re used but just bearings/gasket/O rings replaced the whole shaft unit remains balanced..

@tkupilik
@tkupilik 2 жыл бұрын
@@GordonTurnerr yes, manufacturer have to remove almost half of the nut to balance original turbo-compressor assembly. There is no way, that 'repaired' turbo is balanced. Also painting compressor wheel is not best idea if you care about balanced components. Obviously 'repaired' in india means cleaned, no one cares about functionallity or realibility.
@GordonTurnerr
@GordonTurnerr 2 жыл бұрын
@@tkupilik no, you're wrong. That's how the turbine wheel/shaft assembly is balanced. The compressor wheel will probably have some metal shaved off the backside of it, or near the nut (not the nut itself) that's how it's balanced. Otherwise you're telling me that the compressor wheel side of that assembly was absolutely perfect and absolutely no balancing needed (due to the nut being untouched) to be done on that side. Bullshit.

Cleaning a vgt turbo can make a difference in its performance but a fixed geometry turbo not so much. Axial or shaft end play will let you know the condition of the center bushing and shaft. Without micing it you'll never really know the bushing condition or if should be replaced along with balancing and torquing the end nuts are imperative to keep from fracturing the compressor wheel assembly when it gets up to temperature and expands. Spray paint did nothing! There's an old saying that says are you a welder or a grinder if you have to grind all of your welds you might want to practice a bit more !

I cant figure out why they'd waste spray paint on a cast aluminum compressor housing. Painting the compressor wheel? That's just destructive!! It'll last a while, sure, but there's no chance that thing is still balanced and it will now be eating bearings much much faster.

I had a Turbo in my Mazda that just required a good clean due to Carbon build. The Vanes began to open and close Sweet-As. It went onto do another 80k and still going with another owner. So these fellow maybe doing just that, and the wire brush is soft bristles, wouldn’t harm the shaft, only removing stubborn Carbon deposits. If this workshop was in the UK, GameOn, I’d be a customer with hundreds of Turbos, and initiate a Game PLan of excelling into refining Hybrid end Turbos BaLancing etc.

And first of all, the way you remove the turbine casing, is by use of an acetylene torch and heat expansion. Not by hammering the thing on your knee.
