I wonder why it is that a cook/chef always uses only part of a fruit or veg, they never use ALL of it. Have you ever seen HALF a lemon, or HALF a parsnip or HALF a Tomato for sale in the supermarket, and the part you DON'T use never lasts very long, so you HAVE to use it up fast or throw it away. Just once I'd like to see a chef use ALL of his/her ingredients, as in ALL of a can of peas or ALL of a can of tomatoes, or ALL of a parsnip, without having to throw ANYTHING away, it would make such a pleasant change, I'm SURE there are plenty of other people who think the same too, especially those on a limited budget. Come on chefs spread the word use the WHOLE VEGIE the WHOLE fruit and the WHOLE can of stuff, not just one BIT of it

What has to do with Thanksgiving leftovers? Oh it has turkey.
@onyxfaith
@onyxfaith 8 жыл бұрын
Turkey and whatever vegetables you made with dinner, as he said.
@firmitas68
@firmitas68 8 жыл бұрын
+onyxfaith Indeed. Because we all know that raw broccoli and chick peas are annual thanksgiving leftovers. This is merely an amateurish appropriation of someone else's recipe by putting turkey among its ingredients. So what is the result "Thanksgiving Turkey" and a poached egg. So keep falling the "dude" and the "rad" parlance.
@onyxfaith
@onyxfaith 8 жыл бұрын
Louis DelValle Again, instead of jumping to snarky remarks, he says to add the beans as an addition. My family actually DOES serve raw broccoli as well as cooked during our dinner. In fact we have a rather large variety of food. Maybe you might consider that not every family is the same and he even says (again) to use what you served. Try taking something positive from it. If you don't like it, do something else.
@firmitas68
@firmitas68 8 жыл бұрын
+onyxfaith Your family serves raw broccoli for Thanksgiving. Right, and pound for pound I'm sure that it is also the largest leftover. If you want to defend this baboonery, fine. He expropriated a Swedish dish pure and simple as other commenters have posted. This is not a dish he created. Thus, the lack of poaching expertise. So I will make positive comments when it's warranted such as I consistently do with Bart, Genaro, Food Busker the French Guy and so on. However this completely contravenes what the food channel is all about.
@chuiechuie
@chuiechuie 8 жыл бұрын
+Louis DelValle Who are you to judge what should and shouldn't be on this channel? A cursory look at the title of this video and the words "leftover" and "real time recipe" is enough to know that this is about cooking up something quick and simple. Your attempts to compare it to a "pytt i panna" are foolish. No one culture has ownership over the concept of leftovers, and it's pathetic how you accuse djbbq of appropriation because he's using- wait for it- too much broccoli. Furthermore, how you are able to say he didn't create the dish because of his lack of "poaching expertise" boggles the mind, given the shot was done in real time it's not unexpected for there to be faults of timing.
