🇹🇷 Street Food in Gaziantep: • Best Turkish Food in G...
ADANA, TURKEY - Today we’re going for a full Turkish street food tour in Adana, Türkiye - one of the food capitals in the country. We’ll eat everything from breakfast and spicy pickle juice to one of the ultimate Adana kebabs, and one of my favorite Turkish foods of all time!
⭐️ Huge thank you to Culinary Backstreets: culinarybackstreets.com/ - Use “Migrationology10” for a 10% discount on their amazing food tours.
📍 Levent Börekçilik (maps.app.goo.gl/MiHj4L7cp7SC2...) - This famous borek was started right here from this humble food stall and now has spread all over Turkey. Their borek is fantastic.
📍 Hacının Şalgamı (maps.app.goo.gl/aGQEon5BNPjNw...) - One of the most famous beverages in Adana is a pickled fermented juice that includes carrots and beets.
📍 iştah kebap 1950 (maps.app.goo.gl/ZevXEBqfvGTo2...) - Next up, one of the most world famous Turkish foods of Adana are kebabs - called Adana Kebabs throughout Turkey. The lamb is loaded with seasoning and spices before being skewered and grilled.
📍 Tarihi Şampiyon Ocakbaşı Seyfo Usta (maps.app.goo.gl/x3iSuXAXxQbBo...) - Adana is also known for their excellent liver kebabs, and they didn't disappoint!
📍 Meşhur Bicici Abuzer Kadayıf (maps.app.goo.gl/D1AroJNTwhUrB...) - In the afternoon, one of the great Turkish summer sweet snacks is bicibici, their version of a shaved ic.
📍 Meşhur Ayranci - Additionally down the road you will find spicy ayran to wash it all down.
📍 No 12 Lokanta (maps.app.goo.gl/sYoP3RaSA8CNc...) - Along with Gem who we hung out with today, he’s the co-owner of No 12 Lokanta, a Turkish restaurant serving classic home-style Adana dishes.
📍 Tatli Gonul Kardesler (maps.app.goo.gl/ohjLLAKtEGkbz...) - Adana is also famous for sweets, so Ugur and I tried some local sweets in the evening.
📍 Şırdancı Naci Dayı (maps.app.goo.gl/JXjRddAAx8CPS...) - All the food I tried in Adana was fantastic, but if I had to pick one dish, it was the peculiar looking Shirdan - stuffed sheep abomasum with rice and lots of spices. All jokes aside, it was probably one of my favorite foods in all of Turkey.
Adana has some of the best food in Turkey!

They have a precise procedure and method when dealing with cooking. They know their thing. They are totally in their element. Fabulous to watch. Loved your Adana guide. Some translation notes: 7:15 the börek contains “pastırma”. Although ‘pastırma’ and ‘pastrami’ originated from the same word, they made differently. Pastırma is dry marinated mostly with ‘cemen grass’, pastrami is wet marinated, cured with brine. 25:35 he says “kaz başı”, meaning ‘goose head’, its a measurement unit, there is also “kuş başı”, meaning ‘bird head’ for smaller meats at 27:20, his little strange gesture is trying to explain that the ayran was prepared traditionally, made with a special tool called ‘churn’ (yayık). The owner of the restaurant keeps saying “lokum lokum”. Lokum is Turkish delight or something very tasty and tender in Turkish. The desert called bici bici at 31:46 is famous in Adana and surrounding cities as this region may get extremely hot in summer. The Adana people is humorously famous to gun shot the sun as they get very angry with the heat.

There are 81 cities in Turkey. Every city has its own unique food and culture. Turkish culture and food is a very beautiful cuisine with techniques and culture coming from places such as Asia - Middle East and Europe - Balkans, since they have been nomads for many years.
