The Bobeka camper van conversion kit is a unique concept to convert a functional commercial vehicle or MPV, into a purposeful micro or van camper.
Designed as an affordable, quick and easy, in and out operation. Using materials which are both hard wearing and sustainable, helping you to be on the road and off to your adventures in no time. An effortless solution to help you realise you travel dreams.
The Bobeka camper system is brilliantly designed to be used with many small to medium and large van sizes and MPVs.
It cleverly takes advantage of the available space to provide a storage unit and seat with a practical work table, a functional table and convert into a spacious bed. With the larger models a kitchen unit can be added which has ample storage for food and utensils and a drop-down worktop table.
For the Bobeka camping system to fit, a clear area will be needed. This is dependent on which model you feel fits your needs best.
Bobeka have models to cover small, medium and large vans.

I owned a stealth VW transporter T4 for 12 years and loved it! Looped Ireland every Summer, did France, Italy, and Spain. Now the kids are getting big they are looking at old photos form the 1990s. Time for a new Van : ) When your pack watersports kit its away better than a factory finished camper.

I'm impressed with that. The system look simple and well thought out. I'm a chippie so yes I could build something like that but do I want to...nope! I used my lwb vivaro for camping. I leave my racking in and have a small mattress that fits down the side but when I racked it I planned for it to be dual purpose. For tradesman who either don't want to build they're own racking or it's not something that they feel comfortable doing then I think it's great. They can paint or covet or adapt the system further as well. A good idea and best of luck to the guys doing it.

Not on this level but my LWB Renault Master High Roof I had in 2004 was racked out and I asked for a bunk as I worked 24hr call out, 7 days a week averaging 2000mls a week. Long story short, bunk was built lengthways which wasn't ideal for balance so I stripped the lot, built across the width and it was perfect. I could inflate a mattress on top on the move, set my kettle to boil, I had a hot sink and a bin bag in a bucket bog! Spent many a night kipping in comfort instead of trying to sleep sitting up or lying across the seats with my feet out the window! I had storage for clean gear, PPE, disposable cleaning kit and behind the sealed bulkhead all my equipment, vacuums, jet wash, chemicals and clinical waste. 'Specialist Cleaning' was a vague term to describe my very grusome job, I attended Crime Scenes, Fatalities, Dirty Protests in prisons, drug dens etc to restore them to a safe state for Police, Network Rail, Councils and trades to get cracking with repairs.

A simple part time conversion people do a lot down here in the southwest is two batons screwed to sides of the van and a sheet of ply on top, mattress on top surfboards underneath 🤙 A modification that I would do is four batons screwed in and split the ply and mattress into 4 length ways, all four in a line for a bed, two boards on the bottom battons and the cushions stacked with two boards on the upper batons and you have a bench and table.

All fun and games, but, you NEED to be able to cook indoors!, when it rains, you can't cook outside that rear door. Or the wind, it makes a mokerrey of gas flames. I know, because I've literally just come back from a week in my work van. Ripped out the tools, (luckily I've not had this particular van that long, so it's only ply lined at the moment, ) however, I've literally just started today on my ingenious design of a work van/ camp van . And it's amazing. Just a trail effort at this stage, (as money will be needed to make it work seamlessly) but, for those interested...... basically it's a removable shelving unit(left and right side) for tools, on roller drawer runners, (on tracks), which means I can quickly remove my van racking..... then, I can slide in my camp racking unit, (small kitchenette and storage units ) up to the bulkhead, then the base for the bed. By the way, I using reclaimed ladders to make all this. As Its lightweight and (technically) cheaper than timber ... I'll explain more if anyone wants to know.

Yeah, interested in seeing how you do it. My problem is that my van is filled with casework, not just on the left and right walls. It's a bear to take out all of the drawers one by one, then the carcasses, and stack them all up only to have to install the "holiday" cases. I thought about palletizing it all so everything could come out as a group with a forklift, but then I realized I don't have a forklift! And all of this is for a little weekend trip. Couldn't live in it for more than a couple of days. No mention of shower or toilet. I don't think there is a perfect single-vehicle solution, partly because everybody's need is a little different. But the search for one is certainly enjoyable. Let us know how you do.

So I've seen similar kits, but they are specific to a model of van. I like that this has one size fits many. Would have been good to see how it comes apart out of the van, if it doesn't flatten can't see it being practical. Also I do wonder how sitting in a damp garage affects those precisely engineered sliding parts...

I live in a converted a van for full time ,Roger, it's a long wheelbase Citroen Relay I also use it for work (building trade) removable double bed, solar etc. The adaptive furniture here is a good idea, without good insulation a work van will be very hard going in any seasons, I've tried that before I built something for full time. Interesting concept though.

Really liking how those have multipurposes, also the wood looks nice. But looking on the other multipurpose builds, they seem to be overengineered. Specially the kitchen: what do you do when it's raining/pouring? Seems like it's not tested in real life conditions. There's way better solutions where you can cook inside and outside. Plus they take way more less space. Would love to see slimmed down and IRL tested versions.

It's well made but way too fidly and inconvenient, too many moving parts. After a couple of nights doing all that, you'd lose patience. With a camper in a real life situation, anything slightly inconvenient is going to become annoying. The table is way too small for realistic use, too low as well. A far simpler and straightforward system can be achieved. I don't mean to sound cruel but it's my personal opinion.

Looks like a robust product and a god idea but not for me personally. I've used the same type of wood to rack out my long wheelbase expert. For me, I wouldn't want to remove it once I've used it and the have to but it back in when needed. I'd prefer a whole bunch of racking against the bulk head that I could use on a daily biases for work. Perhaps other panels could be stored up above which could be taken down when needed that would be used as a bed at night or a table and chairs during the day. That just my personal opinion.
@offshoretinker
@offshoretinker 2 жыл бұрын
Ingenious but not practical, over engineered bulky and expensive. Where do you store it when you're done? Hassle is the main bugbear with stuff like this and this is hassle when a folding lounger/camp bed, chair and a table would come in under £100. The rest of gear - cooker, water, porta potty etc is easily stored and no hassle. Perfect set up for stealth camping. So not an option for me.

The creative thinkers. That's who. You've got to make to most of what you've got in this world. This is just another way of doing that. I like it, not particularly a fan of this design, as I does mean you'll be paying a lot for it, and it will weigh a small bit like. But using you're van as a switchable camper is just...well... genius, I do it and I tell you its brilliant. You just have to make the racking system for the tools etc, as collapsible as the camping side of it
@ricos1497
@ricos1497 2 жыл бұрын
@@jonfenwick6200 okay. But I'm guessing the creative thinkers will already have thought of a different design. I think they have a nice product, but I can't imagine the target market being that big. There are a lot of reasons as to why it might not be practical for a large portion of the customer base (van owners). I hope they do well, they seem nice, but I'd be surprised if they're still selling them in five years time.

not knocking it... looks quality and an ok idea. in practical use maybe not. it still needs storing when not in use and does look bitty. you could do with a set sink, hob, lay out a bit better. when putting it in the van you need to be in the van to assemble, i guess that would be a bit of a nightmare. you can buy cooking pod units that has fresh and waste water, a hob and sink in one. then the bed seperate. i owned a campervan conversion company doing t4s and t5s, so i have dealt with what customers want and will pay for. went to every camper show to look at everyones ideas. there was a company that did modular fiberglass units and bed with storage but they struggled to get sales. i would grab as much positive and negative feedback as possible and come up with other designs. so those that this suits, great, and try something else with all your skills and equipment for a better selling design. good luck with it and hope it goes well
