Dave Dave Dave, you put me to shame with how particular you are. Had to buy the two red hoses so they would match😂 love it. So nice to not be alone with that particular peculiarity.

At work, all of our pneumatics are hydraulically operated. You could also minimize the issue by plumbing a radiator between the pump and tank. mount it next to the large pulley to use it as a fan to draw air across the radiator.
@Junkyard_Dave

I have seen that before people put a water trap right after the radiator

Great idea, re purposing a piece of junk to make something useful out of it. Amazing what things can be used for different purposes. I even used roller door tracks for the frame of my box trailer shed. Never know what junk can be reused for something else.

Dave , that big tank could be dangerous if it has had water in it for long periods of time. I have seen smaller tanks explode and the damage that they can cause is unbelievable and deadly. I am not sure if there is a way that the big tank can be checked to see if it is still safe to use. Just thought that I would mention that.

@@Junkyard_Dave - I'd roll the dice and live with it. I'd find something in the scrapyard you can use to weld a cage around it. If it blows a seam then the cage will catch it and limit any damage.

You can test it with a slag hammer point, too. Of course, not with the tank pressurized. That's how they used to test ship hulls in drydock.

Interesting solution to a common problem. I put a little valve on the drain of the air compressor and every hour it would go off and drain for 15 seconds not the best solution but it keeps most of the water out of the lines

That's what I was thinking, too. The factory probably used soft copper line to form that connection, and somebody used rigid copper line and horses it around to make it bend.

@@budlanctot3060 Yeah and good luck finding one if you need one. I had a Craftsman compressor back when Sears was still big, so I was able to get a replacement. Likely the PO didn’t have a choice but to make his own.

You need to replace your PVC lines before worrying about replacing the compressor. BTW: Why not rebuild the pump on that compressor, or, replace the pump instead of replacing such a costly compressor?
