My reaction to Season 1 Episode 21 of Mushoku Tensei. Man... Orsted sure is one hell of a presence. While I'm fascinated to learn more about his rivalry with the Man-God, I really wonder what the deal was with Orsted reviving Rudeus, or if it rather happened as a consequence of the Man-God possibly being able to let Rudeus respawn? Who is to say for now...

a strong hint, would be to check out the names. every1 seems to have a very special or european name. rudeus, pax, zanoba, zenith, lilia, paul, roxy , eris , orsted... but then we have nanahoshi. which is very much a japanese name.

God I love Turning Points so much. This one in particular is traumatizing, and it gets more traumatizing the more turning points there are

That particular one itself isn't necessarily something mind blowing but the events that follow definitely are, it almost feels like it isn't the same show anymore with tone and plot completely changing. It is sad that we probably won't get there until season 4 🙁

The Man-God can't revive dead people. That would be too broken. It really was all Nanahoshi.

Fact about Rudeus' Demon Eye: if an opponent is too high level or he tries to look too much into the future, the possible futures start messing up what he sees. What happens, basically, is that the opponent will be making split second decisions according to his preemptive reactions. Effectively, this makes some opponents immune to the effects of the Demon Eye. Ruijerd is one of those people. In the novel, when he sparred with Ruijerd after he got the demon eye, this was explained. It's how he got beat up in that episode.

Yep. I think it was said at some point in the novel that Orsted is so skilled in combat, there are always 5 different possible futures every time you use the demon eye against him, unlike Ruijerd who only has 2

To be 100% accurate, its not the eye that cant see, its Rudy's body that cant keep up. He saw multiple images of Orsted because he is ridiculously fast, he could adjust the eye to see only 0.05 seconds ahead, but it would be pointless cause he cant react and/or move fast enough to take advantage of this.

I always thought the eye was kinda trash. Rudy is strong enough where most opponents he will seriously face the eye will be useless. Most ppl the eye works on he can just own without the eye. It's a very narrow band of opponents where the eye is useful and he cannot beat the person without the eye. And as Rudy gets stronger it only becomes more and more useless. I don't see Rudy getting insane reaction times and speed. So once he is fighting king level ppl the eye is basically worthless. It was already pretty weak against the saint level swordsman.

What in school romcoms is the trope of two people running around a corner and into each other, sparking the romance, is Turning Point 2 in Mushoku: Rudeus and best girl Orsted meet unexpectedly and it sparks such a nice relationship. ... sure, for Rudy it also involves being killed brutally by having his midsection punctured by a cannonball, that is Orsted's outstretched hand, being traumatised in the process, but one shouldn't sweat the small stuff in these romcoms.

Orsted said that Rudeus is an apostle of the man god but I don’t think that means that he is the one who sent rudeus to this world The first time Rudeus met the man god he asked him if he was responsible for his reincarnation and he seid he wasn’t. And I’m not sure if the man god had anything to to with Rudeus coming back to life but I think it was purely because Nanahoshi said something to change Orsteds mind

The Man-God didn't heal Rudeus, he simply saw that Orsted healed Rudeus

With the Displacement Incident, Buena village was around 100 miles away from Roa, so that's the minimum radius of effect. By looking at the maps and scaling it, it could be as much as 700km. Paul and Norn actually ended up near Lilia's home town, and he thought he was having a guilt-induced dream.

"I don't know what the steel is!" Eris' sword is actually one of 48 magical swords created from the bones of a mighty King Dragon, the Emperor King Dragon to be precise, some three centuries before. Ghislaine's sword is its brother, as are six other swords in the ownership of the Sword God. The sword Eris is using is nameless.

Just found your channel, like the Mushoku Tensei reactions so far! This episode is one of the best MT episodes imo. I especially love how they show the aftermath of the fight in the very beginning of the episode (Ruijerd being knocked out, Eris bleeding heavily, Rudy with a hole in his chest). It gives the viewer an uneasy feeling of approaching dread - just like Ruijerd and Eris feel about Orsted because of his curse!

I love the additional layers I've only recently figured out with this scene, with what Orsted must be thinking: "This human child claims to be the son of Paul Greyrat. That is impossible. I have no memory of him. Furthermore, he is traveling with Eris Boreas Greyrat and Ruijerd Superdia of all people. They shouldn't be here at this time, yet they are both traveling with *this* child claiming to be of the Notos branch of the Greyrats. This doesn't make sense." And after Rudeus reveals he knows the Man-God: "Now it makes sense. He is an apostle! He is serving him! This must be some new scheme brought on by the Man-God!"

Orsted can use healing magic at God-tier to the point that seem like he can revive a dead person but it was that rudy isn't completely dead yet and so Orsted still could heal his injuries.
