Waiting for the day someone works out how to fix cracked glass invisibly

Don't know if that's even possible. You might be better of with buying a spare window unit. You can find some at model-supplies.co.uk.

Nice and clear explanation! I'd add testing the metal polish on a piece of plastic that would not finally be visible - I've damaged some windows by trying to give the extra shine. Also, I've noticed that even if the window is not really clear after sanding, the floor polish treatment makes up for it. Interested in your take on the above. Cheers!

Good advice for sure! It's always a good thing to test some new tools out on a part that isn't visible or actually used in the project, like you said. I've used the floor polish finish in the past. Works great too, but I didn't have any laying around anymore. But I think I did mention it in the video at the end there. I did find that some of those floor polishes make the window units more prone to fingerprints, even when they are left drying overnight. So you might have to be careful with that.

@@MatchboxRestoration yes, you did mention that and I thought that it would have made a great comparison to se before, after and after-with-polish pics. Interesting observation about susceptibility to fingerprints - luckily, my (limited) experience with Pledge has been good so far and I didn't have that problem. I'll check your other videos and I'm looking forward for more tutorials - there's so much to learn! Cheers!

Nice video. Any tips on yellowed plastic? Is it possible to remove that yellow from the sun?
@MatchboxRestoration2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! There are some techniques involving putting the plastic in a certain solution and putting UV light on it (used for yellowed pc’s or game consoles for example). I don’t know if it works on transparant plastic, though. Never used this technique myself.

my son does this on his yellowed white lego. It's a solution of hydrogen peroxide which is then left in sunlight or concentrated UV light. Personally I wouldn't try this on a matchbox window unit.
