Really love your vids! Do you ever feel inclined to change the final look of the models? I realise at that point they are no longer resorations, but I'm curious if you ever try to improvise?

I did make a banger racing type of car out of a model. But apart from that, I have always tried to match the original as close as possible. It’s a personal preference, not something I think is “the right way”. Thanks for the kind words.

Something surprising about this old casting: The panel gaps on the doors are very narrow and precise all around, the suspension is truly scale for this car.

I'm afraid it's no longer available from the seller I bought it from. If you search for "matchbox axle kit" on Google, you can find alternatives that will work as good as this one. Good luck!

It can work, but it's a lot harder to keep the drill in place while applying pressure.

Nice video. Any tips on yellowed plastic? Is it possible to remove that yellow from the sun?

Thanks! There are some techniques involving putting the plastic in a certain solution and putting UV light on it (used for yellowed pc’s or game consoles for example). I don’t know if it works on transparant plastic, though. Never used this technique myself.

my son does this on his yellowed white lego. It's a solution of hydrogen peroxide which is then left in sunlight or concentrated UV light. Personally I wouldn't try this on a matchbox window unit.

Mine was an "Ecobra", but I think the brand doesn't really matter, to be honest. Keep in mind that it does leave some small marks. Those usually are not visible after applying the primer. Have fun!
