1st Class Timothy. Fitting my iPhone 7plus as described by you allows me finally that I can hit my home button on the Phone. Another positive aspect.

A little but important advice that I found in another tutorial.. In "Urgent Stop Mode" as shown at 5:32 DON'T set it to "Always" but switch to "Breakdown", this could avoid an unwanted (and deadly ) motor stop while you are flying. By the way, again thank you for all your videos Timothy, your tutorials helped me so much! Great Job : )

Another feature I find out about the latest update is that, when Mavic is descending while returning home, or is invoked auto landing on left screen of the APP, if the ground below is a very uneven surface, or is a large surface of water(a lake or a river), it will pause the landing sequence and hover above the unsafe ground for further instructions. Very impressive! You should definitely check it out

Hi Timothy, firstly a big thank you for taking the time to do these videos. i recently took my mavic to a park and then walked around when i pressed go home it landed a fair way from where the original spot was which worried me, now thanks to you i know now what to do re having it to the controller. again bog thank you. if you ever get time would love a video on the best settings for all re main control settings, navigation settings, remote settings, image settings,etc etc would love your thoughts on the best way regards. from australia

I really like your tutorials and that is a reason to why i am a subscriber. But there is another aspect that is important and that is: You seem to be a happy guy. I think that myself and people in general likes happy persons, it is nice to listen to a person that is genuinly happy with life. :)

I mostly use rth at night but getting better manually. Mavic has proven to be what it claims. Knew you were going to blow up. Liked

Awesome, thanks for the video. Made a beginner mistake and lost sight of my drone about 1k away behind a hilltop. I got lucky and was able to fly backwards and get it back but this is a good reminder to us newbies to read the damn instructions before you get into trouble. Good job on showing my newbie self how to set the RTH feature since my eyes are going bad and I can't read the dang manual anyways.

That was really helpful Tim. Could you do a tutorial on these two modes. (1) Where it flies backward in front of you/follows you as you walk forward. (2) The other mode where you make it rotate around you.

Just sub'd the other day because of the clear and useful videos, but that tip about leaving the case on was pure gold. I haven't even finished the video yet and I had to stop it to make a comment which i rarely do. Thanks for that, it was driving me nuts that I had to take the case of my new phone every time I had to fly which is often each day. (We shoot real estate for a living) This may be in other videos on the internet but you just get to the point and bam! Thank you. Keep the videos coming. Not sure if it's possible but maybe you'll figure it out sometime soon...im trying to do "active track kind of thing, but with a house, so right now it wont lock on. Im hoping to figure out a way to focus on something like the front door or something that will keep the house in frame as i fly up, down, around. Just a thought.

Great series; the best I've seen. One question on your RTH video: Using the on-screen RTH button, you made the point that the drone will stay at its current altitude when you press the button, and not go to the pre-set RTH altitude. Does it work the same way if you pressed the hard button at the upper left of the controller? That would be very important to know when flying under some kind of canopy.

Really like your videos. A couple of things I noticed is that when your obstacle alarm went off (7:02) it may have been caused by it heading directly towards the bright sun. Also, it may have been a firmware update after you made this video but I believe the Mavic will ascend to your set altitude for return to home but will not descend if it is already higher than the set RTH altitude. I could be mistaken though.

The beeping you heard was because you were flying toward the sun. Flying toward the sun can confuse the obstacle avoidance system. Flip to sport mode to disable the sensors if that happens or simply disable the OAS.

Excellent video! What is the main difference between pressing to go home button on screen versus pressing The physical button on the upper left?

Great videos. Do you have to go into the settings on each flight to set the RTH point whether it returns to take off point or returns to where controller? Or is it a one time setting and then each flight will automatically know to calculate the take off point as the RTH point.

Another suggestion: It would be useful to put in some guidance about RTH when you are working down below 100 ft. with obstructions like trees around. The normal RTH mode when engaged might cause the drone to climb right into overhanging branches (unless you are below 20m). In such situations I often have my loss-of-signal behavior set to "hover" or "land". Around our house we have 150 ft. and 180 ft. trees. Also, close in and over water, RTH could just land it in the water.

Tim Great videos, Question, When you set the RTH to where the remote is currently, do you have to reset it if you are say in a boat and using active track but lets say something happens and you have lost sight of the drone. Do you need to then go in and reset to your current location. Thank you for your time and just want to make i get this part right. I heard they dont float very well. LOL
