I use the lid of a tupperware tub for a launch / landing pad. For hiking I bought a rubber car floor mat at walmart for a couple bucks. It rolls up fairly compact and is light weight. I don't think using Tripod Mode for a beginners mode very long is a good idea. It would get you in the habit of "jamming" the sticks to their extremes as though they are on/off switches rather than learning fine stick control. You can adjust the flight characteristics to get smooth movement in the settings.

Thanks for your video! Subscribed! I had my first flight today in beginners mode and I was still scared and kinda tapping my joystick to travel around haha. This tripod mode will definitely help me to have a feel of the controls more! Gonna try it on my next flight!! Hope to see more tutorials! Gotta learn how to do the follow/tracking mode!

Love your videos and tutorials! As a side note, you can get better (more accurate) signal strength if you fold the remote antenna out at a 45 degree vs. straight up at 90 degrees.

Congrats for 500+ subscribers! What I want to see in this Mavic-series is flying indoors on sports mode, that would be nice! No seriously, what I think would be great is like you make a 3-5min demonstration episode for each filming mode like this one (POI, Active Track, Course Lock etc.) Really enjoying your videos on the Mavic, Thank you for sharing!

If you turn off the bottom sensors before catching it, things will much easier. Nice video series.

I have just purchased my Mavic pro platinum and subscribing to your site was the best thing I ever did your videos are the best I dont know if you have already explained this issue in another video but I would like to know how to fine tune the home point so my drone can land on a landing pad where it took off from I have tried this in a couple of modes and it seems to miss the pad by about the length of the drone some help would be appreciated Regards Simon Wadey Brisbane Australia
