I have machine quilted for over twenty years. I noticed you are pinning your sandwiched fabric. It is much easier and more manageable if you use quilting spray. It glues like a champ and so easy to sandwich with. The best part is it holds forever and then it washes out when you wash your finished quilt. Love me some quilt spray.

Thank you for the introduction to free-form machine quilting. I am interested in drawing a design freehand on fabric then stitching “tracing” over the lines. I hope that makes since. Have you tried that? Great video!

Yes!! You can definitely do that with this technique. I have yet to try it but using a disappearing ink pen would be great for that. So glad you enjoyed the video🤗

id love a video of all the different types of things one can do to get the quilt sandwich together. i know some do it by hand, similar to sachiko (if i spelt that right) and thats totally up my ally^^

Recently saw a KZfaq video where the free motion machine quilter was using inexpensive Gardening Gloves that had grippy undersides, fingers and palms. Advantage of that is being able to try them on for fit.

Great video thank you. What kind of thread is used in the bobbin? Also, what is eyelashing?

So glad you enjoyed it! "Eyelashing" is when there are elongated loops around thread on the back of a quilt. Superior Threads has a great explanation: www.superiorthreads.com/education/eyelashes-when-sewing I'm also using the same invisible thread for the bobbin. A word of caution: when using polyester thread, wind your bobbins at slow-medium speed. when wound fast, the bobbin core can heat up and shrink making it impossible to remove off the spindle. I learned that the hard way. 😉
