Need these for movies mostly. Works with my Amazon Fire Stick in receiver- Optical out, but doesn't work with PS3 BluRay movies- Hdmi- receiver. I tried turning off Bitstream and turned on PCM (although i really don't want to be messing up my settings) but it still has no sound. Probably going to returning them

There is a way to by pass the automatic volume control that's built in and keeps it from getting very loud. The method can be found on the internet.

I have the Sennheiser RS 180 which I love but often on films I found the voices "fighting" the background music so I bought after saving a long time the RS 195 which are very good for films but for music also BUT, from1 (low) to 20 (highest) the highest sound level I can reach is like 9 out of 20. With the RS 180 I put them on 14 for a very high level of sound and have 6 levels yet to go if I want damaged ears. I didn't pay $450 for a way to hear greaat music sound with no vitality. Any ideas?

+Hedgehog's Right of Passage Just saw this... The RS 195 plays really loud, about 118dB. It only delivers this output level without the EQ settings activated. If I remember correctly, you have press and hold the button on the transmitter. This will disengage all of the EQ settings. None of the indicator on the transmitter should be lighted...

when you put the setting on ''no mode'' wich means no leds are on..then the sound is very loud (to the max)

I wish it were really this easy. I have been working on this for about 4 hours now. I'm about to go out and purchase all new cords and rechargeable batteries. I can get it to work with regular AAA but the batteries that came with it won't charge. I can get it to work if I plug it in as a headphone which I'm not interested in doing because the rest of the family besides the hearing impaired person would like to hear tv. The digital audio cord that came with it doesn't seem to be working. It is cheap and flimsy much like the materials used to make these very expensive headphones

+tlcrn58 If I remember correctly, it takes 8 to 12 hours for the supplied batteries to charge. Two things about the optical digital input. 1. you must select digital using the switch on the back of the transmitter. 2. Many TV's optical digital output must be activated via the TV's menu system. If the digital out is not activate, no signal will be supplied to the transmitter...

I bought Sony RF-811 for mom, it's been 4 years now and batteries of it still remains all-day while she watchs TV. Can I expect the same performance from the RS-195? She got hearing loss since she was 5 years old, she is happy with the RF-811. Before the RF-811, she was reading the episode summaries for understanding what's going on on the show, she does not now. But she is still not able to understand all of the speech. She says music is too much, I want to hear the speech. Do you recommend RS-195? Thanks.

The sound on these were VERY disappointing. The sound on the RS 175 were way better and I've heard better quality on $100 headphones

I have been trying to set these up for 5 days now, nothing, no sound nothing. Had 2 other people look at it, also no sound. The TV is 2 years old. Connected it to 3 TVs, can get sound put as headphones on one, but how do other people watch the TV? stupid bloody government agencies which get old people to purchase these things with no thought of how they will get them installed. BTW I can build computers I am not technically challenged. Fed up, they are going in the garbage.
