Yes I did try it but in San Diego where I live the accuracy is not so good. For example it says there is traffic ahead when there is no traffic at all, or it says no traffic and you will hit a major traffic congestion. The only one which is pretty accurate is the HD cable, such as Garmin GTM60HD

Try updating the Navcore that should fix the issue. For that model I believe the most stable Navcore is Version 8.16

Hi, the SD Card must have the maps with the complete copy of the Navcore, which is the TomTom Operating System in order to work. So use a 2GB or smaller SD Card and copy everything on the Root Directory of the SD Card

It is printed at the bottom of the GPS unit, you can also plug it into power source then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and it will show the diagnostic screen including the model number.

Let the GPS unit sit overnight near a widow or outside overnight, and it should automatically update the satellite positions. The second option is to use FastActive.exe to update Satellite positions.

Hi I am not sure about this one, but I do know that Garmin has Maps for Algeria which will only work on Garmin GPS units.

If the address is in an area where there was no road before and the GPS has no maps of that street, then it will take you to the nearest road and ask you to walk to your destination. However this only happens if you enter the Longitude and Latitude coordinates. If you enter the actual address it will say address not found. Same is true if you enter coordinates of a tree in a desert the GPS will take you to the closest road neat that tree and ask you to walk to your destination. The only problem is that not all GPS devices support coordinate entry.

I want to make sure I understand your question correctly, did you erase all the data on your Computer Hard Drive or on your TomTom GPS Navigation device?

That happens if you copy the maps from a different TomTom GPS, or from a third party websites. To be 100% sure always get your maps from a legitimate sources like TomTom Website. If your GPS is no longer supported on the TomTom Website you may use third party maps from GPS forums.
