Thank you so much for this tip. It is so helpful to find someone that holds a crochet hook in the pencil hold rather than like a knife. Also, we make our slip knot the same way and I have never seen that in a video. I just discovered your channel and will be watching your others. After 30 years of crocheting I know I can always learn more. Thanks!!!

Glad you found my channel! As yet I haven't seen any Finn crochet with a knife hold although from FB groups I know there are some! Largely because that's how we all are taught at school.

Great. Thanks. Could you do a slot about crocheting in the round? I always seem to get lost at the end of the row. Have you any tips for understanding the process?
@TuulaMaaria
@TuulaMaaria 3 ай бұрын
On a number of videos I explain the process of finishing a round and starting a new one using a specific stitch. In general the important thing is not to accidentally increase or decrease, maybe that is where you also have a problem.

Hi, Tuula Maaria. You know I never thought of this, but now I remember going into the round and having a real tight slip knot, and when I did I had a noticeable gap at the join, 😮 I just figured it was normal, never thinking about what you show here in this tutorial. 😊, thanks for showing, your full of tips and surprises. 😊😊

So glad I found your channel, being an advanced crocheter it’s hard to find ideas and methods for anything more than a beginner. I’ve noticed the Elena Rugal crochet channel uses her slip knots as a stitch a lot of the the time as well, however she has never explained it, so thanks, very much.

I've often wondered if you can count the 1st loop of the slip knot as the 1st stitch of the row or beg of a round. It seemed obvious but I never tried bcz until THIS video, I'd never heard anyone ever say it's ok & I'm well into year 3 of watching YT videos & my Grandma isn't here to ask anymore. I assumed that you needed a tight knot to secure the base. I've watched many & appreciate all your videos, especially the "fine tuning" ones. I didn't know just how much I didn't know! 😮 Happy Resurrection Day!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your channel so much! It’s so helpful and encouraging to this new old crocheter! 😉 I learned on fabric strips in my 20’s and laid it down when we moved several hundred miles away and I had no storage for the mill ends and also no supplier. Picked it back up when I became a grandmother to adopted grandkids. This time it was with yarn. Now I make baby blankets, afghans, and small kitchen items. Branching out this year with new projects as well and making myself learn new stitches. I love it so much. It helps with my anxiety, cognitive, and neurological symptoms associated with my Lyme Disease. Thank you for teaching us all the tips and tricks you’ve learned over the years. Such a blessing to have you pouring so much of your sweet self into the crochet community around the world! Big hugs from Oklahoma, USA!

Thank you for this information! I always dislike when the knot is evident when doing a slip stitch. Also nice to see another pencil grip crocheter. I have 2 granddaughters who just started crocheting. They are 19 and 24 and one is a knife hold and the other pencil. I've tried doing a knife hold and I can't even make a chain. LOL!! Love your channel!

Thank you so much! I find it very hard to use the knife hold too, would never try to do an actual project that way! It happened to me that I was teaching a teenager to crochet. I taught the pen hold, she learned the knife hold! 😄

Hi Tuula I’m crocheting my first rectangular wrap and it’s going well but, it’s been suggested that if I want I can crochet an icord to style it in different ways …… I’ve never heard of this or know how to make one, please would you be able to help me or do a short tutorial for those of us that don’t know, like me. Thank you so much in advance and greetings from Germany 🇩🇪.

Sounds like an interesting project! I have several videos about i-cords or other cords. The quickest one is to make it like this kzfaq.info/get/bejne/atJhaK56u93YhI0.htmlsi=XeEJ9vJK8TUQJVN8 but I have a playlist of a few other ways. It depends on how thick your cord should be. kzfaq.info/sun/PL7vcNpUtI_RZrNCz32yxwT-YgtwiJGOEZ
