That's what you get with really bad fanfics (they do not even have the rights to the material on the second age). Although fanfic would be stretching it, any fanfic put together of during the second age could be 100% more accurate with even a little research. The Harfoot hobbits did not exist yet, and that's just one of a plethora of contrivances concocted by the RoP writers.

@@andrewspears8891 while I don't particularly love the show, it made sense to change the chronological order of things. In the official storyline, most things happened many years apart. It would make for a boring show to only focus on one people/event.
@andrewspears8891
@andrewspears8891 Жыл бұрын
@TinySpyro They crunched thousands of years into a few days... From an elvish perspective, that might as well be in the blink of an eye. Honestly, it would be vastly better (with show runners that could actually follow Tolkien's work accurately) to have things happening on the original timeline and done from the perspective of longer lived people. I think they also rushed the plot and raced to get to Sauron, the rings (which they aren't doing in the right order), and Morder rather than a slower multiple season build-up. Ultimately, I personally think that with what they could possibly have done a better job, or at least not getting far less backlash by doing something somewhere where Tolkien didn't flesh out in great detail, such as the far East.

If you want to eliminate that reflection of the monitor over Arms' shoulder, do you have any yellow/amber gels knocking around? You'll need to hinge it so you can still set up the shot 😉 But once you're happy with lighting etc, put the gel on and that should dull the reflection a bit whilst letting you keep an eye on the composition. (Or just nudge it to the left slightly so it's blocked by Arms. Also an option.)

The best part was “Let’s have a look at the female character.” 😂 Hilarious because it’s true. Also, shocked that the female character doesn’t have a gay best friend to make the hero look more masculine and reinforce the fact that she can’t have fulfilling platonic relationships.

I don't know what kind of stuff YOU watch, but from the top of my head, I can't remember a single movie or tv show where the female lead has a gay best friend, and even if I am missing a couple, it still wouldn't be enough to classify as a common stereotype in writing.
@gabrieldias3479
@gabrieldias3479 Жыл бұрын
@@mikelytou It's a more recent thing. Especially regarding Netflix shows, where you always have a biracial couple, a gay character (be it male or female), an Asian, a Latino and so on. From comedies to dramas. It's all there. There's even a meme saying "if series X was a Netflix series" and then proceeds showing all the changes.

This is brilliant, incisive and hella funny. The space biker accent was hit that 'vague European, maybe to the East?' feel just right. I think the best/worst bit is that we (or just I) have been so conditioned to associate these accents with these archetypes, it legitimately felt wrong to hear a Yorkshire posh King or an Italian space captain.

I've learned about accents more in your sketches than anywhere. Had so much laughter when you started telling same sentence in different accents. Also, I would love to see that SF movie, sounds like fun, with diverse accents, it would be so much interesting. This sketch is like continuation of your live sketch Regional Accents Discrimination, now writers made a movie that has all the accents. 😊
