I love Stan. He was deeply flawed; but, he did show tremendous growth over the course of seven seasons. You could see the sorrow in his face when Dorothy married Lucas; but, you could also see that he loved her enough to know that his time with her was really over.

I love how Dorothy got Stan twice in that scene: First, with "I had no idea she was so bright". Second, with "That makes all your infidelities with me seem less special". That second zinger was her way of saying, as only Dorothy could: "Stanley, you'll never learn."

My teen daughter was in the room while I was watching this and after that part i was laughing and she was quietly confused...then after about 15 seconds, she busted out laughing.
