Wow what a great video. I’m sure there won’t be a devastating tragedy involving one of these companies’ aircraft a few months later that causes all the optimism and excitement expressed in this video come crashing down and cause the entire thing to age terribly.

How? TWA was bankrupt - the TW workers had no real prospects other than unemployment, they had awful planes, routes, performance, technology, if AA had not wasted the money to purchase TW then TW would have gone ch13. In the end the AA purchase was a waste of money for AA

@@cxa340 Guy I am talking about the workers. I've been part of several corporates buy out and mergers... TWA workers was placed at the bottom of the AA ranking....They were lower than new employees at AA in ranking. Even though TWA had to more experienced workers. They did that so they workers would resign.

@@rayj5091 Yes, but the TWA workers should have had no expectation of being placed anywhere else since their company was in bankruptcy. A new hire to AA had better career prospects than anyone at TW who was facing immediate job loss - it would not have been right to allow a worker from the bankruptcy company facing ch13 and liquidation whose career prospects could be counted in months the right to supercede any new hire at a carrier not in bankruptcy

Wish they would have kept the TWA name and ditched American. Then again, it would have been more painful watching TWA turn into a horrible airline, as American has become.😢
