Thanks for the shout out B! I like the servo mount, that is a great structure to help tie in the bottom. I've never really gotten much into straight away running, but making that 24 into a drag boat is just settling in with me for some reason. Nice progressive ramps on the drag boat! If you do a drag, would you use straight propellor shafts and use that angle for the launch? This is going to be a great build, very excited to see it come along. Nice engineering on that motor/servo mount, 2mm CF will be bullet strong and light!

I used flex cables on the original drag boat, ran about 1½-2° angle for the launch. Here's a link to the original drag boat in action, it preferred like a 1:1 drag boat 0-67mph in a couple seconds kzfaq.info/get/bejne/orSZfpuWy8mlg30.html

Yes, drag boat, I was inspired greatly by yours mostly because it looked so awesome and I had recently purchased a GNSS analyzer with drag racing capability for my drag slash losi hybrid car. The idea was to mimic the “problem child” sponsons by adding recovery steps at the front And using the scale motor for looks. One problem I needed to get past was motor placement, I think your idea with motor/servo mount is spot on 👍 I also see a problem with the hatch and motor height at the year of the motors they may need to lay down more. But I trust your intuition Big B it has not let us down yet. BGFL

Thanks Neal, One of my viewers mentioned pulling a partial mold of the original drag boat ride pads, epoxy the original ride pads on to the Deltaforce. I justchecked, and there the exact same width as the DF. That may work! DRAG BOAT C'MON

The servo mounted version is a good idea, helps to keep everything tidy. Maybe you should patent it and sell them🤔 hydro’s the way to go B ! That’ll be a really fun boat

Two separate carbon face plates with two triangular supports on each. If you want to keep the front bearing cool, use two alley face plates three mm thick with carbon four supports.

You can always mount a turn fin bracket on, and remove the fin for drags, you could still step the sponsons to lift the nose up quick and it should still turn as well, maybe not quite a quick. Maybe a hybrid between drags and ovals? Idk. Turning is half the fun, nothing looks more beautiful that a hydro making a perfect turn, other than hair raising speeds in straights. Either way itll be fun

I'd tru the dual strut motor mount. But I think it would benefit from end struts as well. Add 2 more tabs to the ends. 2X motors, 2x the torque on the mounts....🤷‍♂️

Every ones idea will be different but i would go with the last design with the integral servo mount , With the carbon inlay it will look like a sculpture not a bunch of off the shelf components although those anodized mounts are sweet . If possible though i would go with 3mm carbon sheet , i have a sheet of 2mm to look at and it seems too thin but it is carbon fiber .

If your running water jackets, i think cooled mounts might just be too much going on. More water lines, more space taking up. I like the motor mount/servo one

If your heart is set on twins, I say drag boat. Go with the Big B T motor mount. Keep it simple and clean.

DRAAAAG BOAAAAAT!!! I like the mount with the servo incorporated but I think I would extend it a little more to make room for the drive tubes and it would be a shorter distance to the rudder making it stronger. Not that a drag boat has a lot of turning force. Just my opinion. Bg4l

make that rail a little longer and get that servo closer to the transom that way there is no interference from the stuffing tube and collet its going to be killer

I’m thinking you need a touch of weight more towards the rear but I’m sure the servo mount/ motors mount will work if you put the batteries along the sides of motor checking balance points .

Big B! My brain thinking outside the box if you know what I mean lol. Let’s see a motor that is adjustable for COG. Like screw drive slide hooked to servo that can move it forward & back to get COG perfect.

That's a cool idea, hardest part would be making the thruhull for the stuffing tubes watertight and still move forward and aft

0 - 90 Dragster with third motor mount option. Pull a mould of the previous dragster sponson bottoms ? (I'm building a 0 - 110 outrigger, staggered twin Surpass 4260 - 710 KV outrunners (!) 4mm solid shafts, 42 inch total length, 0.5 - 1.0 mm carbon hull and sponsons)
