Thanks for this Nice vidéo. For months, I’ve been struggling to drive my to inboard engine boat, with more or less success, and thanks to your vidéo, I better understand how it works. Now, it’s clear! Î’ve already seen some vidéos on this topic, but none of them was so … clear 👌 Thanks again! François.

As an absolute beginner, this is a very helpful and well done video. I'm about to take delivery of a brand new 895 Sport and all of your videos have been very instructive. Mine has the joystick, but definitely want to learn all ways to maneuver the boat in tight quarters. Thank you for sharing and cheers!

I put a small piece of black tape on my nc895s wheel to get an idea of when it’s centered. It’s also 9 full turns from hard port to starboard so even if I’ve lost my center (and I’m solo) 4.5 turns and the tape get me back to center. Enjoy the videos!

Also you need to be aware the props in forward are more efficient than in reverse, hence slightly more throttle input in reverse to obtain the perfect stationary pivot 👍

Brilliant Video Bob and Nicky. Very well explained. Easily the best on KZfaq explaining how to berth a twin engined boat. Very well illustrated ( given your limitations of just one camera). Well done. I hope it gets the views it deserves. Keep up the good work. A possible subject for a further video could be “Tips and Tricks”. This could include the anchor swivel, mattress toppers, keeping a supply of drinking water (over and above tanks). Your clothes Pegs etc etc. Anything in fact that you have both found makes life aboard your 895 more comfortable or safe. By the way do you carry a spare anchor and rode? Do you every use an anchor buoy connected to a tripping line in case you get a fouled anchor? Thanks again for all your videos. Much appreciated!
@PowerboatingAdventures
@PowerboatingAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
Many thanks as always John!! Some great suggestions too for film content which are duly noted 😁 and more than achievable to include in the future. We don’t carry spare anchor and rode and don’t use an anchor buoy. I think if we couldn’t get to marine supplies easily that would be a consideration, or if we were considering a long trip. The charts seem very accurate in respect of sea bed and anchoring recommendations (so far!) and we also chat to locals for any tips and local knowledge, whenever we can, in respect of good places to use for anchorage. Time and experience on the water may change, or amend, that view and we’re always open to new views and ideas as we meet more very experienced boat owners in our area - and of course on You Tube in this amazing community we all enjoy 😁😁☀️

@PowerboatingAdventures Жыл бұрын
Hi Rado - a lovely part of the world for boating!! We had the GPSMap 8410xsv in the walkthrough film - so 10” I think the 12 also fits. Depends on your budget but I personally would go for the largest screen that fits!! There’s a film on the channel about the Zipwakes and again, personally, I preferred the Zipwakes over the Lenco’s we had on the 795. The Zipwakes will run without you having to do anything!! Thanks for watching 😁 We were at Trogir a few months ago - loved it 😍

Hello you two. Your videos are super beautiful and very informative. Now I have a question for you, are two engines better than one?
@PowerboatingAdventures
@PowerboatingAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Olaf, thank you for watching our videos and I’m glad you like them. I think having two engines is safer because if one fails you have the other to get you out of trouble. Two engines give you more power to get you through strong tides and currents. Manoeuvring and docking is much easier with two engines. I hope this helps.
@PowerboatingAdventures
@PowerboatingAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for that Olaf and so glad you’ve liked them. Well there’s a question!! ( and it looks like you’ve got twin replies from both Nicky and I!!)I’d be biased and say two after making the change but of course twice the running cost is certainly not for everyone so we were lucky to be able to do that. If you can do two though then we’ve found that manoeuvrability was a real bonus together with the extra power and upgraded Class B category boat that we ended up with. Both boats, the 795 and 895, created great memories though that’s for certain!! 😁😁☀️

how can you see the direction of the engines while driving in reverse considering that the aft seat does not allow you to see them?
@PowerboatingAdventures
@PowerboatingAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question Dottnico1 😁 All the manoeuvring was done without any steering input at all. We straighten the engines as we approach the first left turn into our berth area and from then on no steering is involved. Hope that makes sense 😁🚤

Great video but wouldn’t the pivot point be at the stern when you have one engine in forward and the other in reverse, I can’t see how it would be in the center of the boat 😳
@PowerboatingAdventures
@PowerboatingAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
With the wonders of motion Gary the power comes from the rear (or front bow thruster) and the pivot, or turning point, comes from the middle :)
@garygreaves6581

@@PowerboatingAdventures Sorry but the pivot point would be between the two engines. Laws of physics. Unless you are moving forward or reverse at the time 🤔

Sorry I correct myself, the pivot point is in the centre of the boat, there must be something else going on apart from just forward and reverse 🤦

This technique is for inboard engines (shaft drive) not for sterndrives/outboards.. you should use helm and then one engine at a time - gives most efficiency. Such technique works in light winds, but would need much of throttle in higher winds. The engines are too close to one another to have the leverage. Can work on lighter boats or with less beam. But in calm weather - it works and it is fun. But should not be your only skill.
@PowerboatingAdventures

Thanks for watching Mantas - it worked well for us and I agree shouldn’t be the only skill! 😀
@AndyMurray-st8nf
@AndyMurray-st8nf 4 ай бұрын
Nice video but sorry I have to disagree about your manoeuvring methods. Why would you not use the wheel (when manoeuvring) when you get so much steerage from it? The method you have used is very much a shaft drive technique, utilising prop walk and wash. As you don't have rudders you won't get any wash effect and as the prop moves on the engine prop walk is negligible on an outboard.
