I have 2 brand new ddr4 sticks each work on single channel but if installed to dual channel laptop is on black screen. What do you think is the problem? 😊 Thanks

If they work individually, this is not the problem for sure. Maybe just some incompatibility between them and the motherboard.

Sir I took my laptop memory out to clean it I had 2x2 I took on out and when I kept it in it showed me only 2

Maybe it's not making contact or you damaged somehow one of the modules. You can also try to swap slots.

I ripped off three capacitors on top of my memory while inserting my laptop memory as a flat-blade driver...Can't I use it? Does it break down while using it?

Salut , am si eu o problema cu o placuta de ram . Am un corsair vengeance si are un thermal spreader care sta peste ram , l-am dat jos cu chiu cu vai , si pe placuta de ram in partea de sus se vede cupru inloc de culoarea neagra( gen foarte putin undeva cam 5mm), si pica fix peste un punct dinala(Nu rezistor sau alcv) doar peste un cerculet mic de pe placuta , banuiesc care leaga circuitu sau ceva sunt multe cerculete dinalea pe placuta. Ce cred ca pot sa-l fac? Ram-ul este detectat de bios , dar imediat cu cateva min daca si alea imi da blue screen si da erroare de ram . Eu cred ca de la aia e dar nu stiu cum as putea sa inlocuiesc circuitul de pe ram sau macar sa acoper cu ceva. Ai vreo idee?

@@UltimateDIY ibb.co/F6xfqvg aici este poza , nu e cea mai clara dar sper sa fie ok , acolo in mijloc este problema. Baiul este ca nu gasesc o astfel de placuta doar una in pachet . Si cum nu am gasit problema pe net , bine ca am dat de tine , noroc ca esti si roman si ca ne putem intelege mai bine. Dupa ce s-a luat curentu' mi s-a dus placa de baza ,placuta asta de ram deci... Daca as putea macar rezolva placuta sa stiu ca rulez quad channel. A fost foarte ciudat.

Bun, din ce vad eu acolo mai mult ca sigur ai zgariat tu pcb-ul cand ai dat jos heat spreader-ul. Dar asta inseamna ca tu deja aveai probleme cu memoria inainte sa fie zgariata. Daca unul dintre cipuri corupe datele, 99% nu poti sa o repari.

It works for my ddr3 8 GB I just did a physical check and there was no damage then I used a heat gun on the ram then install it back and in works 👍

Was your laptop on? Hid you hear a static discharge? Were your fingers wet? Try to take out the memory and then reinstall it back.

I do not know exactly. My heat gun does not work at an exact temperature. I would guess about 250C.

Because the controller will continue to try and use the missing chip.

@@UltimateDIY Isn't ram controller inside the CPU chip? ( at least it is in new generation cpu's and AM4 architecture for example). Also is the memory controller chip NOT ADAPTIVE? In the sense that it reads whatever in the module and work on them...?? Why removing a faulty sub-chip (one of 8 big square chips) does not work? Shouldn't it read for your stick: 7x128 MB ~ 896MB instead of 8x128 MB = 1GB ?? With a thermal camera you could locate the overheating sub-chip, why not?

I would strongly suggest you buy a cheap air reflow work station. It's well worth the small amount of money. I tried what you did with crude hot air gun and totally destroyed the board I was working on. Don't do it!
