Ostensibly/ theoretically / hypothetically, the provision of aid to research universities is supposed to provide significant ROI to society far in excess of the dollar value input in the form of new ideas and technological developments. I’m not opposed to that, but something is rotten in the State of Denmark, and needs to be corrected, this is off the rails.

That's why College and University students are being coned out of the money mom and dad, gave them, (or the Government loaned them) for an education. In the end the poor students end up with a degree of questionable value, and a dept in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Meanwhile, the "professors" laugh all the way to the bank.

Plagiarism is one of the first things we were cautioned against when I was an undergraduate and it's one of the first things our students are cautioned against where I teach. How is she even a professor? And with only 11 articles over the past 3 decades (as have been reported)?

Mr Severino, she's NOT "very well qualified". You cannot have her thin publishing record and plagiarism on one hand, and hold up a claim of being well qualified on the other. Compare with Larry Summers - very, very different. How she retains tenure as a plagiarist academic is beyond me. How the Board pretends that it knows what it's doing after these flipflops and poor oversight is beyond me.
