Differences between a 2009 and a 2015 Ford Escape. Engineering nonsense is making the newer ones difficult to work on and more expensive for basic maintenance. #nonamenationals #fordescape #techtips #mechanics #scca #ahra

That was a thorough recap of the problems one could expect while owning a Ford Escape. I think some of the problems have migrated into other Ford models now that all the Engineering tests are complete. LOL. The brake issue sounds familiar but those brilliant Engineers found two ways to skin that cat. On my 1996 Mustang GT, the shoehorned 4.6 V8 doesn't allow the usual power brake booster. The Engineers decided to borrow pressure from the power steering. Two fluid lines criss cross under the engine, and they rubbed together until a leak formed. Once the fluid was low enough, the pressure dropped and the brakes began to bind. No amount of acceleration could overcome the dragging pads. The tires turned brown. I live in Texas and this happened in Ohio on a trip to New York. Just a little plastic or rubber separator between the lines would have kept this from happening. Other than that, the car has been bullet proof. Oh, I just realized it's a 1996. Some of the older Engineers were still around, keeping the youngsters from destroying the Ford brand.

I described all the difficulties engineered from 2009 to 2015. I can't imagine all the Tomfoolery designed into the brand from 2015 to 2025. Have you seen the KZfaq video of the $4,500 or so Ford F-150 Tail Light Bulb fiasco? Moisture got into the tail light & there was cascading Module & Computer issues.

I don't own this kind of vehicle but I can see that there is very thorough and what could likely go wrong with them.

The 2009 is much easier to work on than the 2015. I imagine if I had a 2025 that would be the end of me.

@@Blu_Grit_Garage I think the nearest car I ever owned was two or three years old. For the most part 12 or 15 years old. Am I splurged occasionally get a 10-year-old vehicle. Can't you see I was an auction hound and I really rooted out the great deals. I drive them for free basically cuz I've been making money on them on the other end when I sold them
