Your statement isn't biased, it's the truth!!! If the artist who won the award doesn't believe they shouldn't have won the award, that says something. Lemonade wasn't only just an album, it was a event. Yes Adele 25 sold more than Lemonade but Lemonade had WAYYYYYYY more critical acclaim than 25 did. Beyoncé changed the game by the way she released her albums, and the artistic vision behind her work. I don't care what everyone says, Adele and myself agrees that Beyoncé deserved Album Of The Year and I promise to myself that I will never watch the Grammys again because they will not continue to snub black artist in the main categories and have me as a viewer! I'm not here for it

Alex Cross Even in an interview afterwards Adele said, "What the fuck does Beyoncé have to do to win Album of the Year!" She's right, the woman who has dominated the music industry for roughly 20 years can't win Album of the Year, and I think that says a lot. And I absolutely love Adele and her music. She should not perform for the grammy's anymore, because they definitely used her to pull in ratings...and that isn't fair. That'll show them just how powerful she is and maybe they'll take her more seriously.

Expect this comment section to be trash. Beyonce is the most controversial artist of this generation without interviews, without twitter, without consistent marketing. She is allegedly insignificant and yet she is at the literal heart of pop culture. The impact of her work cannot be denied. As a writer, I can act as though I am above those who are adored, but JK Rowling is an icon who will remain an icon regardless of whether I recognize her as such. It is about looking beyond your personal preferences and acknowledging a phenomenon.

I'm so tired of people harping on about whether or not Beyoncé writes her own music or not. Firstly... are you in on the creative process? Do you sit in studio with her when she's working on her music?! Second of all.. So what? Who gives a fuck?! Is it not about the actual composition and presentation of the art and whether it resonates with people? Whitney Houston was a prime example of that! She'll forever be hailed as one of the greatest artists of all time, and smashed record after record with her achievements and was celebrated for them - although rarely by the Grammys, which surprise suprise, isn't much of a suprise - but rarely participated in the writing of her music. It's about the quality of the art. And whether, it was Beyoncé's sole brain child, or whether it took close to a hundred people to create it, like Lemonade did. Fact of the matter is, it was a masterful art piece. The album of the year gong isn't JUST about the recording artist who the album was created for or who sang the songs, whether the artist was a part of that creation process or not. It's also about the album collaborators and contributors, and for that, Lemonade's brilliance whether truthful or fictional, deserved the win! For all the geniuses that came together to make it! And btw, talented as Adele is. She is not an island and did not create 25 by herself! Like she said, "it took an army"'... sure, not as many people as Lemonade. But what the fuck does it matter if the quality of the content is FIRE?!?!?! Of course no one does it alone! It's like saying you're only allowed to listen to one artist from day of your birth till death. There are other talented individuals out there!!! And what's wrong with the coming together of multitudes of great minds, no matter the number, to create brilliance?!

I agreed with everything both of you all said! Matt Palmer you were speaking nothing but the truth! The Grammys consistently ignore Black Art in the major categories. It just goes to show that just like in real life we as black people have to work two, three times as hard and still won't necessarily get the recognition we deserve. There's no reason Taylor Swift and Adele should have 2 AOTY's and legendary, iconic, groundbreaking black artists like Prince, Mariah, Kanye and Beyoncé have none! Beck has won more AOTY awards than those four artists combined...wtf! Even MJ had to literally have the biggest selling album of all time to be even recognized (they snubbed off the wall and bad...we won't even mention how they treated his 90's music). A black woman hasn't won AOTY since 1999, there's several black albums and artists that have been snubbed since then and it just makes me wonder...what else does Beyoncé have to do???? It's a problem and it's very disgusting that we're constantly relegated to niche awards.

To those saying to "get a grip" or "look at a different perspective"...here's the thing. Beyonce's album made a huge difference in the way music is produced. Did she change the world with it? maybe. only time will tell, but with the way she's shifting and shaking up the music industry, it's looking like it. Yes, her album did not "Change the world" the way most people think about it but it had a huge impact on, not only music, but the community she reached out to. You can't say that she didn't work and put so much effort into this album and just because she didn't meet your expectations doesn't mean that her hard work shouldn't be rewarded. She made art. She stood for a message. She was supporting her community which, for some reason, is so controversial. She did Everything that she could and she lost. For me that's not oK and I probably wouldn't have a reaction like Matt's. But to come into his space and say that his feeling about this aren't valid or justified and that he should "get a grip" or "find some perspective" is absolute bullshit.

Are you on crack? This is the Grammy's. Beyoncé doesn't do anything but sing and perform songs that are written for her. Adele writes her songs, sings her songs and sold way more albums than Beyoncé did and this award happens to be called "album of the year". And you're gonna sit here wondering why the winner won. Do you have a brain? Use it!

Anybody could debate about who deserved it more for the next ten years. All I'm saying is at the end of the day, it's just an award. Awards are not validation for true artists, at least they shouldn't be. As for the Matts. This is KZfaq. If they don't want people to comment about their feelings then they shouldn't be posting videos on here and asking people to comment about their feelings. Has B changed the the music industry? YES, without a doubt! Changed the world, idk, maybe in some long drawn out 7 relations kind of way.

Lance Adkins I completely understand that this is KZfaq and everyone's on has a right to their own opinion about something and to voice it. My problem is someone pretty much saying "Fuck the way you feel about this issue because ________" There are ways to voice your opinion without saying "fuck you" to someone else's.

Oh wow. I had calmed down but then I watched this and came close to tears. I get it. And I think many will just say "Get over it. Adele won." or "It's not the serious." But, much like in the election, this loss isn't as simple. We saw Beyonce put a thought-provoking, life-changing, conversation-starting masterpiece together. it managed to tell powerful stories of hurt, pain and struggle while expertly delving into whole different genres of music. It was controversial. It was discussed at universities. it spurned a gazillion think pieces. Meanwhile, Adele put together a good album full of love songs much like she did for her last two. People bought it and thought it was nice. But Beyonce is not at home sitting with the biggest award for music. Folks can talk about writers. They can talk about instruments. They can even talk about sales. But nah, that ain't the reason Beyonce had to sit there once again with a faux smile plastered on her face while someone else stood there getting an award she worked so hard for and most in the room (including the winner) knew she deserved.

Matt Palmer we all fell how you feel right now. After all the hard work she has done, after all the other awards and over the top positivity reviews Lemonade had gotten, even to be called the BEST ALBUM OF 2016 by Billboard themselves and not get Album of the Year was the ulimate smub. I hope she doesn't come back next year to before than they'll finally get that Beyonce gives them views and her own music gives passions to the other artist that were nomiated as well.

Secondly, SHE ACTUALLY TALKED ABOUT REAL, RELEVANT, IMPORTANT ISSUES. The visuals, don't even get me started, they were gorgeous! But for me what I liked the MOST about it was that every song sounded so different and just created its own world and listening experience. Oh I'm so scared to comment on this video. Let me Start by saying I'm am born and raised in Houston and duh I love Beyoncé I love Destiny's child. It's not uncommon to see Beyonces dad in town or to know someone who knows Kelly, Tina, Or Solange. But I haven't heard lemonade. I honestly haven't. I mean I'm sure it's a great album but I totally understand as an artist she has to evolve but I love the old pop/r&b songs of hers. I just don't understand the "I've drinking watermelon" or connect with the "Jackson 5 nostrils" so I can't say that's my cup of tea. But I know she is making the word album mean something. she is bringing awareness to a community. She is one of the best entertainers in history hands down. I just think maybe the academy which is voted on by their peers take into consideration other components. Only Because it's ground breaking in the way she unveils her art isn't necessary what makes an album. I simply just don't know it's hard because of course I want her to win but then again I own 25 by Adele and I love that album. Of course it's no 21 but it's still a great album. (Seriously too scared to post this 😱)

REALLY!!?? This video just happened to come up after I watched another review of Beyonce's Grammy performance (hands down the best live performance I've ever seen) and it was seriously like passing a car crash - I was stunned into watching it. The world is coming completely and utterly unhinged and you both are so turn't up that Beyonce didn't win yet another Grammy to add to her already 20 + awards between D.C. and her solo work? Not to mention MTV, Billboard, Soul Train on and on (Loss of objectivity and perspective comes to mind). Though I'm not a fan, she is in my opinion undoubtedly the most incredible talent of our generation and quite possibly of generations to come! I just find it disheartening that 2 people that are clearly super intelligent (not to mention vocal) can't find something more important to use their voice in aid of. No T no shade but come on now, use that passion to help create the change we all seek, which won't come about because Beyonce did or did not win another Grammy (yawn). Gentlemen, now is not the time to engage in such protracted and shallow rants. No disrespect - Just sayin.

People of Color should not have to back away from wanting respect and fulfillment in "white spaces". That is the exact problem. There should be no restrictions qualified by race, gender, sexual orientation or any other quality that makes individuals unique. We need to respect one another for our talent and fight for what is right. We have a long and devastating road ahead of us and the only way to travel it, as a society of acceptance, is by lifting each other up to the kind of basic kindness and respect we all deserve.

I struggle with this. Yes, Lemonade was the better of the two albums and I believe history will be very kind to Beyonce's record, but after looking into each album's production (25 and Lemonade) I can understand why Adele took the prize. Beyoncé's album took a machine to master. Did you know 15 people wrote "Hold Up," 12 people wrote "6 Inch," as well as 12 for "All Night?" The most involved song on Adele's 25 is "All I Ask," which was written by four people. Yes, Beyoncé had the better album, but she also had more help. The men and women behind the Grammy vote would have taken the size of each artist's team into account I am sure. If Beyoncé would have won a dangerous precedent would be set: If you can afford an army, you will get a Grammy. Thanks for the channel guys, it is great!

I disagree. In a purely meritocratic system Hard work would be rewarded It takes more effort to have 50 people contribute mastery and then condensed down to 4 min songs

Love you guys "BUT" Madonna changed the face of music and paved the way for all women in music today.the number one selling album should be album of the year. I like Beyoncé and I like adel so I'm ok with this win . I don't believe it's about race Jesus she's Beyoncé she walks on water.

Some of yall in the comments are fucking wild for tripping like this 😂. There was no way she was gonna win Song of the year, it's a song writing award. Record and album could've gone either way. Her album was the definition of polarizing, I understand why it's loved but I think 25 was better, only so slightly.

Matt can you PLEASE explain something, how are the Grammys racist towards Beyoncé when she has 22 Grammys?!?!?!?!??? 22!!!! Beyoncé is about to become the female with the most Grammys YET the Grammys are racist?!?!?!?

She wins all her Grammys from R&B and Rap (BLACK) categories, in the general (white) categories she won Song of the Year Once. Was nominated for Record of the Year(5 times) and Album of the Year (3 times). They are racist. Just how Kendrick Lamar lost to pop, and politic friendly, Taylor Swift.

You can't be "robbed" if someone else won fair and square. Don't like the rules? Don't play the game. You're the ones making videos about awards shows that have proven time and time again to not represent popular opinion.

Well what's great is that Beyonce doesn't complain about this kind of stuff. She goes back to work and completely outdoes herself each time. Many people felt she was robbed for her last album and that she wouldn't be able to top that, but then she just came out with something even bigger. With each album she works even harder than the last, so you have to give her props for that. Her song Formation pretty much reflects that philosophy. -Steele

It's the principle. But black artists shouldn't look for validation in white spaces. That's our fault for thinking otherwise. Her loss for this specific award, along with others, says something much bigger than just losing. Not trying to make a race thing but it means something totally different to artists of color who "will never be good enough". You probably cant comprehend but it does sucks.

I mean, I can't pretend to get into the minds of the Grammy voters to figure out why they like who they like. Neither Beyoncé nor Adele exist in my music library. But I'm not over here moaning that my fav lost an award. And I'm not making blind accusations about why my fav wasn't nominated. I simply accept that my tastes do not align with the majority of Grammy voters. My point is that nobody was robbed of an award. The people who voted on that award decided who should win. If you don't like their opinions, I urge you to stop patronizing the Grammy business (yes, you're giving them their bread and butter by watching) and start patronizing businesses that support artists you find deserving.

+C Martin Messy Mya estate's accusation towards Beyonce was made long after the voting ballots were already returned by the voting members, so your theory is false. And the statement "without permission or consent from his surviving family" is FALSE, because the day Formation was released, her estate took it to Messy Mya's official facebook and praised Beyonce for paying homage to the late New Orleans celebrity. And her spoken part is NOT included in the song, only in the video (the "what happened after New Orleans?" line, to be exact).
