In my first video from Henning Pauly's event '42 Gear Street Two', myself and Jack Gardiner both get to experience playing a legendary amp brand for the first time.
The amp we're playing through is the new SLO 30 from Soldano Custom Amplification. It's a lower-wattage version of the Soldano SLO 100 - a legendary head from the late 80's that has been used by the likes of Eddie Van Halen, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Steve Lukather, Michael Landau, Vivian Campbell, Lou Reed, John Fogerty and many more...
Michael Soldano actually retired from building his amps in 2018 - however, recently the company was sold to Boutique Amps Distribution who represent a number of esteemed boutique amp brands including Friedman and Morgan Amplification. Michael Soldano remains with the company as a designer and in 2020 the brand released a revamped version of the original SLO 100 as well as the lower wattage SLO 30 that you hear in this video.

I keep coming back to this video for the tone and that segment starting 8:00, supposedly just to demonstrate the Wampler Ethereal, but then you can see Jack's smile widen and widen as Ross gets lost again in the tone and playing. Brilliant

The true way to test amps is blindfold comparisons. Ones opinions are so influenced by sight and ego. Blindfolds eliminate all of that. Andertons is one of the few to do that type of comparisons. 🎶🎸

That sounded great! I've always wanted to try one out. The closest I got was a Jet City 50 watt combo, which is a licensed version of an actual Soldano schematic.
