Hey everyone, welcome back to my flight training journey! In this video, I'm sharing my experiences from my second month of flight training and boy, has it been a whirlwind of excitement and learning.
From mastering the art of night landings to conquering my three-point cross-country flight, each milestone has brought me closer to my dream of becoming a pilot. But the highlights didn't stop there - I also had the incredible opportunity to hop into the back seat of a flight and observe another student pilot in action. Talk about gaining a whole new perspective on flying!
Beyond just my own journey, I want to take a moment to encourage each and every one of you watching. Whether you're dreaming of a career in aviation or aiming for something big in your life, remember this: every step counts. Just like planting a seed today, your actions today will bear fruit tomorrow.
So let's get motivated together. Let's chase our dreams, overcome obstacles, and soar to new heights. Because who knows? That seed you plant today might just grow into the tree of success tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates on my flight training journey and remember, the sky's the limit! 🛫✨

I did about 50 hours on Microsoft flight simulator at home before I started pilot training. I purchased all the simulator controls. On my first discovery flight, I landed the plane. Anyone that wants to get started I recommend to do the simulator at home for at least 50 hours and get your medical certificate first before anything. The SIM helped me a ton! Iwent to my second flight already knowing VOR navigation. The SIM was huge for me. I still use it at least once a week.

As an airline pilot, I wish you the best of luck!!!! It’s such a rewarding career and it’s expensive but it’s worth every penny. I love my job and no disrespect to these people but even on my bad days, I still think it’s better than flicking pens at a desk job

Keep it up Ruben! I’m currently on my 3rd week! Honestly today I was having second thoughts about it all not knowing if I would be good enough, feeling like I’m not really learning or studying right, but these are just thoughts that aren’t true at all. I’m not supposed to know how to fly a plane 3 weeks into with maybe a total of no more than 10 hrs. Thank you for this video though glad I’m not the only one on this journey!

I have these similar feelings of inadequacy. But tell myself if others can do it, so can I. Even if I am a little slower... I will just keep trying until I succeed. Best of luck! Week one for me.

My boys are 14 flights in and they have been focusing on touch and goes for the last 9 flights. They will be doing the other aspects later on. Their instructor basically doesn't do anything for the landing, just has his hand on the yoke just in case. One of my sons said he has 61 landings all together. Last day of College is Monday, so May and June will just be focusing on getting their skills figured out and hopefully be soloing in early June and end of July will hopefully be their check ride so they can start Instrument rating.

I still havent choosen a school as im trying to figure out how to pay for school and If i want to pursue this all in ! Im am trying to get immersed in this carrier and want to read books related to the certificate to si if it continues to sparks interest. Thank you!

If you’re considering being a pilot the first thing I would do is a discovery flight, go on group on and see if there’s a discovery flight near you, they’ll take you up and show you the basics of flying and you’ll get a good feel for the plane. As far as book I would get the PHAK (pilots handbook of aeronautical knowledge) this goes in detail of everything you need to know. It might not be entertaining but it’s a lot of good stuff.

Great video Ruben, I have some questions. I am in a part 61 so the studying is all one me, which makes me nervous. I started watching a youtube series: www.youtube.com/@FreePilotTraining and I am not sure what other information I need to be studying. Can you recommend anything? Cheers on your landing. Tomorrow is my second flight so basically my first week of training. Have you already done your written test? Thank you!
@irubenguler
@irubenguler 2 ай бұрын
I have not done my written yet. Currently studying for that, as far what to study. Your school should be giving you a book going over all the material needed to get your written. But if not. I would get the PHAK (pilot handbook of aeronautical knowledge) this goes into detail about all the info. It’s a beefy book but it’s solid. Also I wouldn’t necessarily shy away from buying an online program such as the kings school. That’s what I did and it’s helping tremendously

@@irubenguler Its a part 61, so they mostly just teach me to fly... I'll probably get that book, thats a good suggestion. Along with a lot of YT content, is where Im hoping to make up the difference. Just wanted to be sure to fill all gaps. And have a good understanding. My other pilot friends suggested Sporty's and I might spend for that also.... Cheers
