Күн бұрынHi! I am visual artist from Ukraine and my current big project is a series of Ball-jointed Dolls (BJD). I wanted to share some parts of the process with you.
For a year and a half I’ve been working on a doll master model itself and now I am prepearing to resin cast. But first I need to make silicone molds for each part of the doll.
In this video I am making the first part of two-part molds using the Smooth-On Mold Star™ 15 silicone.
The material used for sticking the doll parts is just a regular sculpting clay. For the doll I’ve been using LaDoll Premier.

I’m confused in how to make this. For example if I’m making a mold of my doll’s limbs like arms or legs etc. how do you make sure that it’s hollowed like this? Did you let the silicone sipped inside or did you plug the hole with plasticine? I can’t see the actual positioning of them before you pour the silicone on it.

Hi! You’re right, this is one of the way to make the mold. But for more neat result sometimes it’s better to drill the hole.

необходимо обрабатывать детали специальным составом перед пластилином и заливкой силикона, что бы не то что тронуть металличиским стеком, а даже дышать на поверхность. Это кошмар
