I feel like if they made the bed sized 350x350x350 it would sell a lot for the price. But with the A1 costing only $399 and a bit more for multi color printing at faster more reliable speeds.

1. 6 Stays removed 2. Vase: Clockspring3D, Annoying Box - LS3PD or LightSpeed 3. 46 screws 4. 12:30:12 or maybe 11:30:12 as the hour hand is really close to the 12. The clock is pretty blurry. 5. New fittings to repair a greenhouse that we’ve been starting seeds in for years. Probably going to model the new fittings with mounts for grow lights.

Love your channel, and glad to see you're giving that awesome machine away! All I have is a tiny Ender-2 Pro and this would be a HUGE upgrade! I need to buy one. * Question 1- SIX Shipping Stays * Question 2 - Vase: Clockspring3D, Annoying Box: Lightspeed * Question 3- 46 * Question 4 - 12:30 (I really had to study it because it was so hard to see, I switched to a different browser so I could zoom! LOL) * Question 5 - My first print will probably be a bed leveling X (I like to make sure the entire bed is good to go!

The preloaded lead nuts are used improper, the sprung load should be forcing down with gravity. Instead they have the springs on the bottom pushing up, so the weight of the bed is resting on the springs instead of resting on the screw with the springs giving extra help driving the bed weight to the screw. Unfortunately I have seen all China printers using these in this manner and it is wrong. This may be the reason the mesh bed is so bad looking as constant up and down could pose the variability, but being high in the middle could be do to trapping the corners and heating it up do to thermal expansion. But what do I know I only designed AM for NASA, SPACE X, and BLUE ORIGIN!

John, good review! I'm glad I'm not a 3D printer company, consolidation is happening quickly. I would have loved having this as my first printer back in 2018 when I started. Now it is competing with other printers that have the same or better specs for the same price. One question I know the answer to - who printed the clock? Thanks for the time you spend on these reviews and good luck to the winners
@TripodsGarage
@TripodsGarage 7 ай бұрын
I am only replying to the people not entering 😂. Unfortunately, I review what isn’t in front of me. It isn’t a comparison review. This is just a review of the printer and its functionality. If I were to name drop other brands, then to me that should be a separate comparison video. This is where I try to set myself apart from others in this field. Now, I am not without faults I did name drop (by a blurry thumbnail and KZfaq card in the video) on Neptune 4 review, so it does happen. I remember watching a car show called MotorWeek when they reviewed a car, it was all about that car not what the competition has. Then they would do an opinion segment where that person would break it down further in another episode. Who printed the clock? Now that would be the epic question 😂

has two trees build qaulity gotten better since the original sapphire plus? those printers could have been so much better than what they shipped them as, the hotend is by far the worst hotend ive ever seen, other than that i was lucky with mine an my frame an everything else was good not out of square or warped like alot of the others i seen have issues with but i got a p1s a bout a month ago an have been loving it an im going to replace some of my older machine with newer faster printers an part of me wants to try a mixture of different brands like i always have but at the same time im so happy with my p1s ive been considering replacing them with more p1 series or maybe try a a1 bed slinger, not 100% but i wouldnt mind trying all the different bambu clones if they are priced resonably an right now its cheaper to buy the p1p than most of the clones so it makes me lean more toward bambu but i know alot of them are trying to be a clone of the x1 but others like the two trees is just a clone of the p1p so it has to be priced less to compete in my opinion cause there not comparable with bambu software feature so the printer has to have a bigger build volume or priced lower but so far what ive seen is not working out like that so i'll probably end up with a bunch of bambu lab machines but ive always had a soft spot for my two tree sapphire plus even with the trash hotend it came with i always knew it could be so much better of a printer than it actually was, its by far the most rigid machine i own an that include the bambu lab machine but they just didnt do great with the firmware is the biggest issue an there so many version of the same printer its almost impossible to find the right firmware through two trees so u was stuck dealing with making ur own most of the time or having to trust someone else custom firmware an even then u didnt know if it would be the right firmware for the machine u had cause there was way to many variants without any way of identify thing. i had ppl from there support not even know they had combinations like mine, dual motor z axis linked with a belt to help keep them in sync but only had a single endstop while all other dual motor z axis motors had dual endstops an i really wish mine did but u had to make sure both z motors are at the same height b4 leveling the bed an the textured glass they send with the machine is trash, ur better of flipping it an using the smooth side, i had better results with adhesion on the smooth glass than the textured glass, its been the only textured glass ive ever seen that didn't have good adhesion. also the 17 min benchy looked way better than ur 30 minute benchy, do they give profiles with there machines now, i had to build my own for mine an it took me forever to get a decent profile an that has been the only printer i wasn't able to get a good profile from the manufacturer or even the community an took me slowly making changes til i got one that was decent an even now i still dont think its ago good as it could be. sadly my sapphire plus has just been sitting for the past couple yrs just cause i have so many other printers that work better it never gets used unless i have all my other printers running something off an need something printed for myself cause at this point i dont use it for anything i print for someone else, only for my own stuff cause it dont do as good an i dont trust the parts it puts off as much as i do my other machines. i would like to spend some time working on it an upgrading it but i cant get the motivation to do it an im to the point im ready to replace alot of my oldest machines with newer so it may end up being sold or swapped off or i may even consider doing a custom build on it i dont know. it has so many positives about it that none of my other printers have but it has more cons than my other printers so my mind is not set on how im going to deal with getting new printers an what to do with machines like the sapphire plus.

I disagree on you opposition to providing decibel readings. On my channel at least, I take the same reading on the same table in the same recording device in the same room from the same distance every time. I could say a similar thing about disagreeing with analyzing print quality since everyone has different lighting conditions. All data requires interpretation though! Fortunately we have you, a well qualified individual, to add context and share some info to go along with your readings. Overall looks like a very nice printer! On the screws were coming loose, hopefully they can fix that at the factory. Sounds like they just forgot some loctite, but ideally you design things in a way where they don’t need it. It’s not like this is an engine or something.
@TripodsGarage
@TripodsGarage 7 ай бұрын
I take the same readings at the same spot as well. Do we go to someone’s house that might have a smaller room, lower ceilings, and poor insulation with our meters? I don’t. Why show a meter? I actually purchased mine years ago, just for reviews. Shows no value for a person that isn’t in the same conditions as you or myself. However, we can always agree to disagree 😊 Yeah, looking at the machine from a distance. I can see where someone can get the vibe that it might be slapped together. However, after looking closely, it looks really good. Loctite will be such an easy thing to implement on those screws if they haven’t already. Either way I hope they take my experience and expand upon it. I know you don’t live all that far. If you are ever I. The Chicago burb area, let’s do some lunch. Or hit up a MicroCenter 😂

I'd like a simple yet well performing like this one, but with a larger bed to assist my X1C. Something between 320x320 and 350x350. There is many thing I like about this printer, like the 3 independant motors for z axis. Lots of possibility if you are creative..
@jakabgipsz4788
@jakabgipsz4788 7 ай бұрын
I think the 3 independent engines are completely unnecessary. For a perfect level bed, you have to measure and adjust every time, even Bambulab solved it with 1 motor and synchronous belt, so you have perfect level and synchronous every time. I don't see the point of separate motors, just the downside. What could be the advantage?
@patricklebel1141
@patricklebel1141 7 ай бұрын
@@jakabgipsz4788 with proper mount, you could tilt the bed and remove the need for support. That's why I wrote "creativity". But you are right, one motor is enough, just make sure that your belt don't slip a tooth on one b gear.
@leaftye
@leaftye 7 ай бұрын
I have this in my queue, but from looking at their website, I don't like that their build plate is shaped unusually. It may help with registration, but it's otherwise the same length and width as the Bambu X1 build plates that are cheap and readily available. It's also a bit expensive considering the competition. It should either be bigger, enclosed, or have an AMS option...or all. I'm hoping you looked into the nozzle. Another proprietary nozzle size would be awful. I have a Qidi, and even for that, it took a while for larger sizes to become available, a little longer cht-clones that are currently only available on 0.4mm. At least there are adapters to allow the use of V6 nozzles, and there are plenty of cht-clone V6 sizes available. If this is anywhere as fast as they claim, it'd be a shame to be unable to take full advantage of it because large cht-clone nozzles aren't available. Anyway, looking forward to watching and hearing your thoughts.
@TripodsGarage
@TripodsGarage 7 ай бұрын
It came with a spare nozzle. It looks to be a MK8 style, but possibly smaller? When I get back to the garage I will check, and post a picture in the community section. I did reach out to my rep at Two Trees to see what type of nozzle it is. I believe 3d Chameleon might be making a color swap kit for this printer. I will reach out about this as well.

Howdy neighbor!!!! Even though I have the notification bell turned on for all, KZfaq manages to not inform me of any of your new videos. In fact, I honestly did not know your channel was still active. Do you happen to know the dates and location for this years MWRRF, and are you planning on being there????

Hey there bud! Yeah, you are not the only one that has told me this. I don’t know why people are not getting my videos suggested to them, especially if they hit the bell! It is pretty frustrating when I release a video and only see a few hundred views in a few days. Make me wonder how channels that are just starting are eclipsing me in views and subs. I assume you meant MRRF? If so it is June 21st - June 23rd 2024 in Goshen Indiana.

I have bought some Two Tree parts in the past and the quality was not always the best or even half decent but I can see some thought has gone into the design of this and also some stupid mistakes, parking the hotend on the front left is a mad move! although some changes to the end G-Code will solve this, however, that is not novice-friendly. Having screws vibrate loose is an amatuar mistake! The aim may have been to compete with the P1P and the K1 but it falls well short. I wouldnt even buy another Creality machine so this doesent stand a chance of living in my print room!

Ok Tripod, let's enter this. 1) there are 6 stays that you removed. 2) the creator of the vase is Sven (clockspring3d) and the box is Stephen (thelightspeed) 3) there were 46 screws in the box 4) the time on the clock in the updated picture appears to be 11:30:12 (but the hour hand is a bit close to the hour for the min hand being at the 6), and my first print will be another screwdriver rack for on my pegboard in the garage. Hope I win!

I dont really see the point of this machine. They would of been smarter to release a klipperised version of the SP5 as there is still pent up demand for a 310 x 310 bambu clone. This just doesnt have anything a p1p doesnt have

@@TripodsGarage So I tried a c920 also. No dice. Upon further digging, it looks like this is an issue with the 2.0 firmware that mine came with. I'm trying to figure out how to downgrade. Webcam support is "intermittent" at best on the 2.0.

Again an implementation that hasn't been sufficiently thought-through. The elephant in the room: not enclosed. Sure, you can slap some panels on, but then also need to add an aux fan, a filter and exhaust fan a top ... Before you know it the price is above that of a P1S. From the video it looks like it probes with the nozzle, but ... how does it assure the nozzle doesn't have a blob of plastic sticking out and skewing the z-offset? You want to poop and have a nozzle wiper. Using the bed as wiper is a good start (unsure it does even that), but only a partial the solution. I totally applaud using open source Klipper and the independent z-axis steppers are nice, but useless if your bed then is still as bent as you showed in the video ... And at that price, it's just too little ... Spend a little bit more and get a P1S or spend less and get a smaller, but enclosed, K1 or an open Bambu A1 (bed-slinger, but fast and working great out of the box). And I'm not a TwoTrees hater. I love my Sapphire Plus (revision 2) as a thinkerer machine, but it's way behind the new generation like the Bambu and K1 and also this new product just seems unfinished while priced higher than stuff like the Bambu A1.

I actually was going to get back to it, hence that comment. Then as the video progressed it totally slipped my mind. I have seen way, way worse from other brands, and I am sure others have as well. I would like to see a much flatter bed, think the possible issue there is are only 5 points where the bed is fastened. There is a lot of overhang. If they were to add more fastening points, and move them more to the outside this might help. The bed mesh leveling did do a really good job, as I never had a problem with the first layer.

Very interesting assessment! I see some people show close ups of a printed benchy, while others have it a foot away from the camera and show one angle. The first one out of silk, can see the layer lines. The one in purple PLA, that both of us agree looks pretty bad, has looked that way across all my printers. I switched tricolor filament after the purple, and you can see the layer lines at 0.20. Then switched to red PLA for the annoying box, still can see the 0.20 layer lines. If your assessment was true then all the surfaces following that purple benchy would have destroyed layer lines as well.
