7/3/4/2024 I had my driveway repaved just yesterday, it was similar in size to your, but had a attached carport and a tool shed they had to work around and it was last paved in 2003 with no seal coat in the following years so got quite rough with ruts and sink ages, that had to be filled in over the holes and sink ages prior to putting on the top coat with temps above 80*f, it took the large crew about 3hrs to go from start to finish and ended up costing me double what you paid, and you had 2 days prep and finishing with a lot more prep work done, plus getting rid of the nasty old driveway finish hauled away. To me you got one Hell of a bargain from what you recorded. I do like the video you made it was quite good on how steady it was in the breeze and the image quality. I wish I could of paid what you did as a lot more was done for you than I had done, but my end results were similar to looking like your, hoping it will last quite a few years before having to do it again. Don't forget the driveway will need seal coating in a year or more and the future afterward to extend the life of the asphalt driveway for weather and wear.

This was infinitely better than the dogshit official assembly video they made for this. They literally still have the default extruder plugged in during that official video and said nothing about not needing that piece of shit red extruder that comes with the Ender 5 pro by default. It just defeats the whole point of buying this thing when they still imply you need the bowden tube and old assembly still hooked up and shows they have 0 faith in their own product, so I didn't buy one of these. I hope that idiot who featured in that video was fired.

My understanding is that the springs in the buildplate are part of the self-leveling feature. The Saturn 4 Ultra has them, as you noted, and the Saturn 4 Ultra’s build plate did move and compress the springs when you squeezed the build plate. I would assume the Mars 5 Ultra buildplate should of had the springs, and those springs should have compressed, like the Saturn 4 Ultra compressed, when you attempted to compress or squeeze the Mars 5 Ultra’s buildplate. Since the Mars 5 Ultra buildplate did not compress on squeezing, I wonder if those springs were missing, and that was causing failures on first- layer adhesion, and thus all your problems. Just a thought.

I was a loyal Traeger+ user for years, but after switching to Asmoke, I have to say the difference is clear. The precise temperature control that Asmoke offers is just amazing. The dual sensors and the new PID algorithm ensure temperature control within 5°F which makes grilling so much easier. Additionally, the portability of this grill with its lightweight, compact design is a game changer. I can now enjoy grilling on my camping trips without any hassle. I also appreciate the eco-friendly aspect of the wood pellets used as a fuel source, and the variety of flavors available add an extra layer of deliciousness to my grilling. Grilling has never been more enjoyable and efficient. I am so glad I made the switch to Asmoke. #Asmoke

The preloaded lead nuts are used improper, the sprung load should be forcing down with gravity. Instead they have the springs on the bottom pushing up, so the weight of the bed is resting on the springs instead of resting on the screw with the springs giving extra help driving the bed weight to the screw. Unfortunately I have seen all China printers using these in this manner and it is wrong. This may be the reason the mesh bed is so bad looking as constant up and down could pose the variability, but being high in the middle could be do to trapping the corners and heating it up do to thermal expansion. But what do I know I only designed AM for NASA, SPACE X, and BLUE ORIGIN!

John, good review! I'm amazed how much resin printer prices have dropped and the quality seems to have gone up. I sill don't have a need for them, and am very concerned about using resin, but do appreciate the information.

Based on the other reviews I've seen, I agree that your unit was probably defective. I'm glad Elegoo is eager to replace it. One thing I wanted to remark on is that I would avoid inverting the build plate to keep any resin drippings from contacting the upper part of the the mechanism. Thanks for the review!
@TripodsGarage9 күн бұрын
If I didn't have such a positive experience with the Mars 5 big brother the Saturn 4 Ultra. Plus resin machines are Elegoo's bread and butter. If I didn't take that into account, I might have had a different opinion. Thanks for your suggestion about inverting the build plate. I am still very new to resin printing.

If something goes wrong don’t expect help from Ikier. The manuals are written by someone that doesn’t know what they’re talking about. They’ll string the conversation out till you have exceeded your frustration level. Then blame another department for failure to honor the Ikier warranty.😫

I think you ripped them off. You probably paid a cheap price had all that equipment out there and men power as well. They put you two different types of stone and used a paving machine on that small driveway. You watched them and took videos of the job. And then you put a video up asking if you got ripped off. It’s hot rocks oil and sand. That’s all asphalt is. What did u expect Driveway is probably the cheapest thing you could do to your house. $5-7 k for a 15 year investment that gets drove on multiple times a day from cars and trucks that weigh between 4-7000 pounds. Driveway sits out in the rain , cold , heat , frost , snow. Etc. people change their oil on it birds and pets pee or crap on it car drips gas and oil on it. What do people expect that’s less than 1 dollar a day over 15 years. You spend more than that on coffee every morning
@TripodsGarage17 күн бұрын
Oh! The customer ripped off the company 😂. I watched them, cry even more. Amazing how people forget that when jobs are filmed there is someone behind that camera. The videos I have seen almost every camera person is up close and personal. Yet, I was stationary either using a camera under timelapse, or me sitting and piloting a drone. Yet, you people watch videos of people working, hypocrisy at its finest. Then people say it was a good job, and are quoting today’s numbers vs numbers before all this inflation. While saying they did a good job, while missing all the places around the skirt and sidewalk where they didn’t even lay any stone. If it is just hot rocks and sand, then it is overpriced. Plenty of people that are too busy being armchair warriors, then to actually assess the job. There isn’t one company in our area that doesn’t use a pavement machine. They all use them for residential driveways. As stated in the video, this company agreed to being filmed, and knew it was going to be posted on KZfaq. I don’t buy coffee, nice stereotype.

See that 7.20 mark - I dont like the design of the plate - the way resin is in the gap of the plate and you are bound to drop it some time. Why could they not have covered that gap and put a wing on it to hold it more securly. Its really put me off this machine.
