Funny how you show the fake carrier team, i learned to remove the coil or pull it to replace these txv easier...great video as always.

On these systems coil removal is the best move, not to bad, just cut the liquid & vapor, pull condensate, fanangle the flue out of the way, slide the coil right out, real easy like, reach around one handed cut the equalizer tube you forgot to unsweat first.

The company that came out this morning said they have to drain the R22 freon and replace it with the newer type for the valve to be replaced..3k+ wth

Yes. If you seen at the end of the video, SH was 11 and SC was 10

I don’t see them as often as several years ago. Most manufacturers have went to the non sweat in valves

if the reason for making it difficult is to inflate the cost of the service call why not dont sell the parts separately and make replacement of the entire indoor unit required just to replace a faulty txv. same goes for a botched install if a new system is being installed and by flexing the lines to fit them together you snap off the txv seeing that the coil is aluminum carrier could have brazed the cap tubes to the txv making replacement risky because of melting the coil.
