I thought I didn't like country music. Turns out I just haven't been listening to the correct country music. Edit: People keep liking and responding to this a year later, so today I had a thought related to a response someone left. If there’s a genre of music you think you don’t like, take just a couple minutes to look for uncommon examples and sources of that genre. You might find your next favorite song. If you still don’t like it, then more power to you.

@johnnyrocket1685

I have the same exact feeling to be honest. I grew up in some poorer areas of Utah and as a kid I truly, genuinely believed that you legitimately had to yell at your wife and beat her, shotgun PBR and Bud Light as soon as you wake up at 8am, work the shittiest possible manual labor jobs known to man, and spend 2-4 years worth of paychecks on the newest, largest and most unnecessarily upgraded F-150 - F-350 on the market, because those were the kind of people I grew up around in the areas I lived. For a long time I abhorred country and would never allow it to play if I could help it; But after discovering this song through a FoolishFrankie video where he absolutely nailed it playing an on-the-spot cover of Feathered Indians using a guitar and a Saxophone so much that I went straight to Apple Music and listened to the full song. Since then I listen to it at least once to and also from work every day, along with Make it Out Alive by Tanner Ursey, Move it On Over by Hank Williams, Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash and The Gambler by Kenny Rogers. That’s my country playlist so far lol.

Well my buckle makes impressions On the inside of her thigh There are little feathered Indians Where we tussled through the night If I'd known she was religious Then I wouldn't have came stoned To the house of such an angel Too fucked up to get back home Lookin' over West Virginia Smoking Spirits on the roof She asked ain't anybody told ya That them things are bad for you I said many folks have warned me There's been several people try But up till now, there ain't been nothing That I couldn't leave behind Hold me close my dear Sing your whispering song Softly in my ear And I will sing along Honey, tell me how your love runs true And how I can always count on you To be there when the bullets fly I'd run across a river just to hold you tonight Well my heart is sweating bullets From the circles it has raced Like a little feathered indian Callin' out the clouds for rain I'd go runnin' through the thicket I'd go careless through the thorns Just to hold her for a minute Though it'd leave me wanting more Hold me close my dear Sing your whispering song Softly in my ear And I will sing along Honey tell me how your love runs true And how I can always count on you To be there when the bullets fly I'd run across a river just to hold you tonight

Thank you for taking the time to put this down. Played drums since age 7 and years in a machine shop with air hoses blowing off wet parts has made words in music oft 'not so crisp' and I understand very few of them beyond the chorus. I pick up the music parts , notewise and usually strum right along with them on my acoustic, yet I miss so much of a classic song because of it. Again, thanks and have a blessed day.

Maybe like Americana rock and roll. Something like the resurgence of 1950s music today. I think he'd most be attuned to things that sound pre 1980, before the heavy use of synthetic sounds.

Great song. Here are some lyrics for those that like to sing along. Well my buckle makes impressions On the inside of her thigh There are little feathered Indians Where we tussled through the night If I'd known she was religious Then I wouldn't have came stoned To the house of such an angel Too fucked up to get back home Lookin' over West Virginia Smoking Spirits on the roof She asked ain't anybody told ya That them things are bad for you I said many folks have warned me There's been several people try But up till now, there ain't been nothing That I couldn't leave behind Hold me close my dear Sing your whispering song Softly in my ear And I will sing along Honey tell me how your love runs true And how I can always count on you To be there when the bullets fly I'd run across a river just to hold you tonight Well my heart is sweating bullets From the circles it has raced Like a little feathered indian Callin' out the clouds for rain I'd go runnin' through the thicket I'd go careless through the thorns Just to hold her for a minute Though it'd leave me wanting more Hold me close my dear Sing your whispering song Softly in my ear And I will sing along Honey tell me how your love runs true And how I can always count on you To be there when the bullets fly I'd run across a river just to hold you tonight

Fell in love with Tyler recently, he pierced my soul in a time of weakness. When I listen to Tyler my bones shake. I probably listen to 30 songs of Tyler a day at this point. I wish I was there when he was coming up but I’ll be a lifelong fan, cheers bud

This song gives me the chills, makes my heart swell, and puts a tear in my eye.

My boyfriend sang this song to me when we were just hugging each other. I recorded that moment and still gives me butterflies everytime I recall/rewatch the moment 😊 He is such a big country boy and I am a big city girl who just moved here in a small city in Nebraska. I never knew I will have my first relationship here and honestly I am so grateful to have him as my first. This song really reminds me of our early relationship ❤️ I wish and hope to God we will end up together and get married in the future, as I wanted this song to be played in our wedding or the after-wedding party 😆
