Positive on first. When taking off, it's (Neg) off first.

Here's an experiment rarely seen on KZfaq: 1. Jump start the car. 2. After a very short period of time (seconds), turn the ignition off. The car's battery will likely still be dead, as the alternator hasn't been given sufficient time to recharge it. 3. Attempt to jump start the car again off the same jump-start device, without attempting to recharge the device. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to determine exactly how many jump starts the device can perform before it fails.

Hmm no luck for me. When I clamp, it doesn’t recognize it’s connected to a battery.

This is a good video of showing you how NOT to jump start your battery.

Always connect the positive cable (red) first, then the negative (black). I noticed this was not done this way in the video. Otherwise, good information.

My type S didn’t work. However It worked for me after I connected the red cable first before the black cable. You did the opposite. My Type S is very particular lol. Over all great video.

Always connect positive 1st, then negative and vs when disconnecting. This goes for any jump starting or boosting when connecting booster cables (retired auto tech). This way of connecting eliminates a small spark which if there’s excessive battery vapours around the battery this little spark can cause an explosion.

I have much heavier ones but this one is more convenient and only has to start a Honda Element so should be more then enough.

you have 30 seconds to start the car from the time you connect the cables. Also you must connect red first and then black

You were lucky to get it started. This type of charger is for the most part junk sold by companies such as Costco or Walmart. Problem is people don't know such boosters don't work until the day they need them.

This charges my Honda element no problem but when I try to jump my Infiniti ex35 is keeps saying battery protected unplug and start over while my car honks continuously. Why would it do that? I tried numerous times and it still won’t work. I’m thinking it doesn’t work on the bigger engines maybe

I realize this is a 2 year old video, but can I ask you one serious question. In the end, it appeared that although you had a full/100% charge on the readout of the Type S, in the last couple of seconds, was the readout then at 00%? Did those three hard pulls drain that little battery?

It is light weight means lower capacity. This is not nice! Few ounces heavier with more internal batteries translates in a heavy duty battery that will start heavy engines from the first time and less likely to trigger battery protection. Light does not always mean better.

Light means it is easy to carry. This isn't a lead acid battery but puts out far more power oz for oz.

I use this when I travel on airplanes and have rental cars. As long as it works I appreciate the small size and weight. I use a GOOLOO GT4000 in my personal car, it's a lot bigger than the Type-S and also works very well.
