Good to see a late evolution of one of the very best early 6 cylinder engines made in Australia. Keep it up. Looks like the aftermarket saved the best till last.

I never drove anything like these beasts but as a kid in the 80's I owned a couple of 245's and that angry Hemi 6 scream takes me right back there!

Absolutely wonderful build. I feel as though you were born in the wrong era as Chrysler would've loved your skills back in the 70s. A 320ci hemi would've ripped at Bathurst and got the old hemi some victories instead of it being the Holden/Ford show during that era. 😈👍

The only way to go now, without boosting, is methanol. A dedicated methanol engine should produce approximately 25- 30% more horsepower. Because of the extra oxygen molecule that methanol has. Would possibly be in the vicinity of 550 RWHP. Approximately 630 flywheel horsepower. This would definitely be the maximum amount of power for this type of iron engine block. The RTE49 had a Chrome/iron cast engine block which would be able to handle the higher horsepower and higher rpm runs. But these old blocks are still limited to the design and casting technology of that time and era. I do believe that someone, here in Oz is machining modified 265 Hemi billet blocks. And that you can get stroker crankshafts made. Absolutely amazing. Keep the spirit alive. Long live the 265 HEMI. Thanks for your fantastic work and enthusiasm.👍🏽

My best drives was from Mildura to Melbourne in a 265 Charger, getting 16mpg. The engine freed up after such a spirited run.

I have loved tripple carbs since my mate bought a GTR XU1 back in 1987 .. Now i know it isnt a hemi and if memory serves me correctly i think they were SU top draught .. I am a achef not a mechanic. But th sound of that GTR XU1 spec motor and the throttle repsonse .. tryimng to find a decent Chrysler by chrysler for the Sunday Cruise

centuras were my favourite, power to weight, bit light in the rear end and crappy brakes but quick, had a few of em surprised many V8'S in the 80's and 90's

Yeah like the TC & TE Cortina manual 4.1s Lower the diff ratio An intelligent spice up of induction & go V8 hunting. That is if the chassis rails hadn't rusted through as centura 4.0's were the worst for that. Thats why in the late 80's & early 90's. They were cheap as a backstreet goonbag slapper.

@@gorillafunk725 my freind who owns his own chrysler wreckers and mechanical repair shop used to make upgrades for the chassis , brake up grades etc etc, these days all he seems to do is full restos , better money and more interesting. he even installed nascar style engines from the US by memory. he has all kinds of big blocks etc.

Turbo that 440 Hp to 880 Hp at a modest 14psi. Suddenly a 2jz with 30 psi starts to look average. Long love the Aussie hemi.

2J. N/A? Ok engine but way over rated. Turbo? I believe about 10% of the power claims. RB Datsun, about 5%. The Falcon makes more power turbo and N/a. Without insane boost levels.

Actually amazing. That's well over 500 HP at the crank for TF3. I never saw any videos about your CNC head. What about designing a crossflow CNC head? Possible? Would it make any more power? Be a challenge for sure.

I've been in an E49 and they go hard stock. Never thought a 265 could make this sort of power without nos or a turbo. Can't believe it makes more than my ls1. What times has it run? I'm thinking flat 11s with a manual. How much would a motor like this cost?

Pretty sure it's the same, in fact I think all 6's are the same. The Barra sounds like shit cos they're basically square, which makes it super smooth. Then they're turboed, which kills induction sound, and they're low reving. They just suck lol, and this us coming from an XR6T Ute owner lol

@@shadquirk607 Not all 6s have the same firing order. But Falcons, Valiants and Holdens do. Exhaust note? Yes hemis are distinctive, Holden 6s are, Yet Toranas sound different? Why? Dont know. Falcon 6s? Sound like tractors, twin cams a sporty tractor. They make good power though and do sound ok n/a. And like a sporty tractor with a hair dryer!!

They can sound great with the right exhaust and turbo, there's one in mustang in the u.s that sounds awesome, most people just use the original log manifold and screamer pipe with the stock rpm limit and sounds like absolute shit
