U.S. Marine Corps Combat Engineers VS the Jungle Warfare Training Center

Жыл бұрынThe Jungle Warfare Training Center is a U.S. Marine Corps jungle training facility on Okinawa, Japan. It's a triple canopy environment which is very difficult to maneuver through and survive in. However this is the environment of tomorrows battle field as the Marine Corps moves into the future of warfare as we know it. To learn how to maneuver in this environment, Marines with 9th Engineer Support Battalion take on the endurance course, the true test of embracing the suck in such a harsh environment.

I was assigned with the 9th Engineers at Camp Hansen, Okinawa way back in 1978. I was HM2/USN back then.

When we went through the endurance course, we did it in teams and had to go through it with a casualty. The heaviest person on the team played the roll of the casualty. Our stretchers were made of two staffs and our blouses. We did a lot of dragging up hills. I also remember a trench that had mud in it about waist deep; depending on how tall or short you were.

Man you have a golden eye what great imagery and captures my brother is out there with you guys in Japan he just earned his certificate for the jungle course I wanted see what it consists of and man did you answer all my questions and then some. You have a real talent my friend the flim and editing is remarkable keep up the incredible work and keep on posting you really give us back home a thrid eye into what you guys have to endure you guys are true warriors THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE !

I went through JWT/NTA back in 1997 during February.

The endurance course is just a portion of NTA/JWT. When I went through, we did land nav (day and night), squad infantry tactics and other fun stuff.
