U3000:49 Transit Part 1
So this is the 2nd vehicle that I have seen with the same issues! Follow along to see what I have found so far!

I saw you on the FB group, that's crazy that you had to use a fiesta to get the information needed. Weird stuff man! Very interesting. Can't wait to see the final fix. Good work Brian.

steering column /sscm have a high failer rate I have re installed asbuilt data and usually fixes temporary

usually, that code will lead to a clear re-run and self-test and other codes should be looked at first if the u3000:49 returns to use DTC u300a:29 steering column electrical componets

On the 1st one I ran through the u300a:29 to a "t" and says replace bcm..

@@712gln the 1st transit ibdo not have complete story, this one ( the red one) died while driving , the sat it just turned off and the Hazzard lights came on. If this is because of the door harness shorting and putting the bcm into a shut down , I feel this is a safety defect that should be reported to nhtsa .

i think also bcm is the problem but you did check for ground ?

You have a crank no start situation Brian, would definitely focus on pcm inputs just to be safe, simple flood mode would get you confused with no codes, the bcm is cousing confusions but there is no security light on or any security codes it communicating. Hopefully is something simple.

I am all ears to suggestions. If what you state is the case would not the cluster light up with key on / bulb check? PCM has comm with key on. One thing for sure is the BCM on this vehicle does control the fuel pump, via a serial msg from the PCM. I like your thought process of not overlooking the obvious!

@@BrianMann216 i see the bcm controls FP relay ,the RCA also has a u0422-00 pointing to the bcm and can you explain why is the rcm talking to the fule pump in case of an accident.

Wonder if you could get the hazard switch pid to change pulling up the voltage with a test light. 2nd maybe try clearing the codes before testing the switch. Just like the turn signal bulbs I been dealing with shops replacing bulbs still no turn signal then you have to clear the code the light starts working. Maybe same thing happening with your hazards

Great idea, I could have used a 1k or 10k resistor to pull up to b+. And see what happens.

Wondering what fets was popping lighting or what Fets are allowed 600 shorts in its life perhaps the lighting might be a symptom a bcm fail like when replacing a bcm and not programming the tpms with the interior lights flashing

Yes I have seen the flashing interior lights when the bcm is not completely or properly programmed, situation is both vehicles same exact issue with out any replaced parts, ( original bcm installed)

I looked at TSB's. Might be a couple of related ones. Here's one for crank no start. google search brings up more than SI. I have all data , identifix & I purchased FORD motorcraft SI and this code is not listed / invalid for this vehicle..
